every child's fear is the dark that appears at night. Shadows hiding and lurking around when you turn off the light. Their told not to put their toes over the bed, the monsters that lay under getting ready to pounce. To take you under into a new world and make you their next meal. But no One tells the truth about the monster under the bed, he's not there to eat your hands or feet or pull you under, but to protect you from what could. What you can't see is what they can. The shadows creeping towards ready to consume whatever's in sight. The man that hides in your closet ready to creak open and hunt. Grant seemed to think differently though. He stayed up all night watching the objects in his room take shape and move around creeping closer to his bed before looking under. They look fearful then run away without another thought. What it the monster under his bed that scared them off? Maybe the monster was more powerful? We're they territorial and not wanting to share their meal? Grant would curl up in his bed even more and place the blankets over his head and hide. No monsters could get him if he was under his blankets right?
Soon enough as grant aged his thoughts on the monsters slowly disappeared, but the monster under his bed never did. Every monster was assigned a specific human to hunt. Most would move on when their human turns ten. But grants monster didn't want to leave, he had liked grant and often he broke rules and came out from under his bed. It was one night when the monster sat out, shifting as he sat on his knees his hands on the bed watching as grant slept. The pale boys skin reflecting from the moonlight, long eyelashes fanning his cheeks. The humans features differed then the monsters. He had pure black skin, and long claws and fangs, black horns that curled and pure white eyes. Sharp facial features and skinny body. Grant was muscle and seemed to work out often. He was tall while the monster was short. He sighed softly moving his hand gentle across grants cheek, The monster had been with grant the day he was born. He'd been under his crib and under all of his beds. He'd moved houses with him too. He's seen people come in and join, often feeling jealous when they'd sleep next to each other. And often times he tried to stop any acts going beyond sleeping. This human was his human and he wouldn't let another monster or human hurt him.
The monster seemed to freeze as he felt grant push his face into his hand. Feeling his soft breath fan against his skin. He watched the human sigh and fall into a deeper sleep. That was until his claw accidentally pierced the humans skin, a thin cut across his cheek. The monster felt ashamed of himself, how could he hurt his human? Grant woke up immediately eyes adjusting to the dark as he saw nothing but a shadow zoom under his bed. He immediately got his phone and groaned as the light blinded him, he then went to his camera and became confused when he saw the cut. "What the fuck" he mumbled to himself his deep voice raspy from sleep. Grant got up and went to the bathroom cleaning the cut and putting a Bandaid. He then heard a rustle from under the bed. He paused, and looked into the mirror at where the bandaid laid, before he looked over to his bed. Grant was slow, feet hesitantly moving closer as he went to his bed. He then went in his knees and grabbed his phones flashlight, what Grant saw he'd never expect. He thought It would have been his cat, not a monster under his bed. He immediately shuffled back eyes wide in fear at What he just saw. But the monster felt hurt, at his humans reaction, he contemplated, wondering if he should talk. Grant moved and looked under the bed again seeing the same thing. His eyes definitely weren't playing tricks. "What the fuck are you?" He asked in a whisper, maybe this was a dream? Had he taken acid before going to bed? Maybe his friend gave him some as a sick joke? The monster began to crawl from under the bed, grant moving back as it did. The monster sat on his bed, his tail wrapped around his waist. "I'm your monster" it said, it's voice soft and light nothing but a gentle whisper. Grant seemed confused "my monster?" The monster went on to explain, from the moment of birth he was assigned to grant. To protect him from any harms way in his bedroom. The monsters got up and frowned as he ran his finger over the bandaid "I didn't mean for hurt you" he apologized. Grant was stunned, he couldn't think of what
To say. He had a monster? This was his monster? He looked down at the pure white eyes and gave a hesitant smile "um it's okay, it doesn't hurt don't worry about it" the monster seemed happy with that, smiling widely showing off the spikes teeth. Grant seemed to only grow even mroe wary of the monster. But he calmed down. The monster was to protect him right? "So, um do you have a name?" The monster looked confused and shook his head. "We weren't given names. I'm just the monster under your bed." The monster shrugged and grant nodded his head. "I'll call you Kian" Grant suggest, the monster paused "you're not going to get rid of me?" Kian asked which to grant shrugged "I guess not, you can stay I don't care. Just try not to scratch me again" he teased before he looked at Kian "do you often watch me sleep?" Grant moved and got back in bed. The monster paused and quickly shook his head long hair falling in his face to hide his embarrassment. Grant grinned knowing that was definitely a yes. Before he yawned and turned over ready to go back to sleep. The monster looked at Grant before he moved and crawled back under the bed. "Good night" Grant said which in reply the monster gave a soft one backI dunno how I completely feel about this one. But oh well, only way to Know is the votes and comments lol. unedited btw
