Chapter 7: I Have A Cry Session
He dragged the tip of his finger along my jaw, ever so lightly. It made goosebumps arise on my skin and I directed my golden eyes to his teal ones.
"Look at me." he whispered, in his normal voice,"I want to see the look in your eyes. I want you to see what I mean when I say you're mine. I want you to know who owns your heart. Your body is a temple, and I intend to worship it all night long."
I shot wake when I felt someone shaking my shoulder. I looked up to see Slendy.
"Ms., what are you doing on the floor?"
I looked around, I was in the bathroom, a pair of scissors and tufts of blood red hair surrounding me. Oh, now I remember, I was sick of looking at my hair so I tried cutting it all off. I must've been depressed from the Sherlock montage I did and cried myself to sleep on the floor, judging by the salty taste in my mouth.
Wait, my hair. I stood up quickly and looked in the mirror. Oh god...
I had pixie hair...
Plus I look like a boy now...
I groaned and rubbed my face,"Great...I'm never watching Sherlock ever again..."
"Well, Ms., just think, your hair will be easier to wash now." Slendy suggested.
I looked him dead in his faceless face and said,"Go wash your mom."
"Ms., my mother is a life consuming demon, such as I. She could swallow me whole in a second."
"Jesus, Slendy, I didn't need a life story." I rolled my eyes.
Death came home in a good mood. He walked through the door whistling with a spring in his step. Then he saw my hair.
"Whoa! What happened to you?" he asked.
"Sherlock Holmes is what happened." I said from the top of the stairs, crossing my arms.
"Ah, I see." he opened his arms,"Need a hug?"
"No."
"Do you want a hug?"
"No."
"Okay."
Death made a motion with his hand and my legs lurched forward. I rolled my eyes and, yet again, fell into his arms. I didn't even fight, I just begrudgingly wrapped my arms around his torso and rested my head against his shoulder. Maybe if I hug back he won't try to suffocate me. He hugged me back tightly, making me huff.
"There, feel better?" he asked, propping his chin on my head.
I do admit, I felt a little better, but I wasn't going to say that.
"I would feel better if you would use you regular voice." I stated simply, closing my eyes.
"I'm not using my regular voice, Claudia." Death said in an annoyed tone.
"You don't have to be insecure around me, I won't judge." I shrugged,"My voice is probably ugli- HHN!"
I suddenly couldn't move a muscle in my body and I stared off into the distance as Death's grip on me tightened painfully. I could feel the anger radiating off his body, and it wasn't pleasant.
He leaned into my ear and said,"Don't use that word on yourself, ever. Or so help me god I will punish you."
I was able to move again, and I stood shaking in fear, wanting to leave Death's arms, but he held me in place. He buried his nose into the crook of my neck. I was still shaken up by his outburst, so I was, shaking. Death noticed my trembling and pulled away, holding on to my shoulders. When I saw his sharp teal eyes I lost control of my emotions and my eyes squinted to hold back tears of fear. Its just something about his eyes that made me tick, and I lost it.
"Please don't cry..." he whispered, wiping them from my freckled cheeks,"Please...I didn't mean to scare you."
He pulled me into his arms again, tenderly this time, while he whispered soothing things into my ear in his regular voice to calm me down. He had a nice voice, it was sweet and silky, and every time he spoke my name my heart jumped a little. Soon I stopped trembling, and I was only sniffling quietly on his shoulder. He pulled away and smiled at me.
"Better?" he asked softly.
I nodded, flustered from my previous cry session,"I-I like your v-voice.."
He chuckled,"Only around you from now on...Got it?"
I nodded, and he gently kissed my cheek, making my heart flutter. He stared at me for a while more, then he began walking towards his office, making me feel a little lonely.
He's peculiar, I'll give you that...
And I thought to myself...maybe Death isn't such a bad guy...maybe he's just got some memories that has kept him rough on the outside, but once I get to know him better, I'm sure he'll open up more...
Maybe...
