Chapter One:

Hey all! Here's the first chapter! I know we said sometime in January and here we are February, but you know things happened. Lol... Anyway here's the first chapter, I hope you enjoy it, I'm not sure when chapter 2 will be out, but very very soon! I hope you enjoy we worked really hard on this.

Kaylie's POV

The bell finally rang I sighed of relief as I packed up my stuff and flew out of the science class room. It's officially been almost a year since I have been in North Dakota. I moved from California to North Dakota I'm guessing since after grandpa died mom thought it would be a good opportunity to move from Nana's in California and get a fresh start in a new state.

About a few months after we moved mom overdosed on pills and it ended up killing her. The family all kind of fell apart after mom died, dad became more drunk and abusive Trever moved away with his best friend Henry to Florida Kayla ran away Maci was almost never home. I was basically all by myself with our father being abused half of the time.

I felt a tear fall from my face as memories started to flood in I wiped away my tears and just went to my locker and put my stuff away. "KAYLIE!" I heard my friend yell from across the hallway I turned my head to look down the hallway as I see layna sprinting down the hallway to me.

Layna is about my age a few months older she had long brown hair and was a cheerleader of the soccer team. But the sad part is she was a hoe, she slept with almost ever man in this high school I thought my brothers other friend Levi was bad. I shook my head and mumbled to myself as I was not in the mood to be around layna today.

She finally made it up to me and squealed in my ear. "Ow layna! Is that necessary." I shut my locker swinging my bag over my shoulder folding my arms. "Yes it is because the school dance is tonight and you're going with me!" She jumped up and down like a little puppy with a big smile plastered over her face. I shook my head.

I had no choice but to go because A there's no arguing with her and B she would just end up whining about how I don't care about her and I'm lazy and never do anything when she's right I don't care about her.

I don't even know why I'm her friend but I'm lonely so. I gave her a fake smile and looked at the clock. Shit I'm going to be late and my dad is not going to be happy I'm not home an cooking dinner. "I have to go layna I'll see you tonight bye." I ran off and out the school doors passing by a crowd of kids. I put in my earphones and started walking home. Fun day for me. I felt something touch my shoulder.

I quickly turned around my face filled with fear as I turned around I sighed of relief, "Jesus Axel, gotta stop this scaring me shit." I demanded. He looked at me and smiled, "Gosh kaylie, there's no fun in that though." He teased I rolled my eyes and continued walking with him following behind me.

"So what's up?" I ask him typing on my phone, He stayed silent for a moment then opened his mouth, "Am I not allowed to walk you home bestie?" He said throwing an arm around me. I looked at him then back at my phone. "I thought you had a date?" I say he quickly responded with shit, "Well kaylie gotta go!" He patted my shoulder and ran off across the street.

Dumbass I say to myself and smile as I put back in my earbuds and continue to walk.

*25 minutes later*

I finally made it home and was walking up my driveway slowly as I started to get more and more nervous. I don't see why I was feeling nervous either way dad would end up beating me so I should be use to this by now.
