"Man, don't you have your own food?" I smacked my lips.
"Quit being so mean." My bestfriend, James, chuckled. "Such a fatty."
"You're bigger than me James. And you know I don't play about my food." I managed to say.
James and I have been friends since the second grade. We'd always do everything together when we were younger. I never really grew up with any girl friends because they just seemed to dislike me for some reason. So James stuck around me for almost my whole life.
Finishing up the last bite of my chicken, I began piling our dishes and washing them.
"James, how long are you staying?"
"I'm just about to leave." He said, as he got up to get his coat.
"Ugh okay." I sighed. Drying my hands, I went over to him and we did our handshake.
"Goodnight and be safe."
"You too ugly." He said as he kissed my forehead.
"Boy if you don't.." I chuckled. "You so annoying I swear."
"Not as annoying as you. Now lemme leave before you go on. Love you."
"Love you too best."
Closing the door, I made my way towards the kitchen again to finish my cleaning.
I had the whole weekend off from work because I'm still new to living on my own. I had so much to do regarding furniture, replacements, and such things like that.
After cleaning the kitchen I found myself cleaning the whole house. Which was something I've always did. Satisfied, I ran upstairs and took a long shower. It was needed to end my night.

"Mars, you're needed in the lab room."
Grabbing my clipboard, I made my way over to the lab room. Working as a registered nurse has always been my dream job. But I find myself dreading it day by day.
Don't get me wrong, I love helping people. There's just days when it just gets old and tiring. The long nights will do that to you.
"I have two appointments for regular checkups today, do you mind filling in for me?" My coworker Beth asked. "My son has his basketball game today and I promised I wouldn't miss it."
"Yes that's fine." I smiled. "What time do they come in?"
"One is supposed to be here in fifteen minutes and the other is supposed to be here in an hour." She assured me.
"Okay." I wrote on my clipboard. "Good luck to your sons game."
"Thank you. Gosh, I owe you." She engulfed me in a hug.
"It's okay." I chuckled. "It's no problem. Now go before you're late."
And with that she had left.
Still preparing for the checkups, I heard a knock on the door.
"Come in." I softly said.
Opening the door, I took in the scene of a tattooed person. He looked like he was around my age. I really couldn't tell.
"Hello um..."
"August.. August Alsina." He said in a deep accent. One I've never heard before.
"Yes. Hello there. I'm Dr.Jones, I apologize for your doctors inconvenien-"
"Yeah yeah, can you just hurry? I have somewhere to be right na." He rudely interrupted.
This nigga.
Biting my lip, I sighed. "Sure let's go check your weight and height."
As he stepped on the weight, I grabbed my clipboard.
"170 pounds and....6'0 feet." I said as I wrote it on the notepad.
Woah.
"Now take a seat, I'm going to take your blood."
Putting the medical instruments in front of me, I began wrapping the rubber around his arm. Poking a needle through his vein, I started asking questions.
"Have you been feeling any pain lately?"
"Nah."
"Any allergies or medications you're on?"
"Nah."
"Okay last question." I cringed. "Are you sexually active?"
"Don't worry about it sweetheart." He chuckled.
"It's procedure."
"Yeah." He smirked. "Anythin' else?"
"No sir." I said as I took his blood work. "I'll be right back. Just have to take this to the lab room."
Grabbing my clipboard, I made my way over to the lab room. After waiting about 10 minutes on his results, I went back to the room.
"Here your results say you're perfectly fine. No sickness or anything." I smiled.
"Aight bet." He got up. "Thank you."
To be a little funny, I put a spongebob band-aid over the spot I had poked him with.
No laugh or anything. Wow.
"Alright. All done." I smiled. And with that, he left.
"Okay one more patient." I sighed, as I took a sip of my water.
