A blue sky above me, with just some clouds passing by. Passing the sun and creating small shadows on the open grass field. A small breeze carrying the faint smell of the ocean not far from my small village. The grass beneath me feels soft, tickling my legs when I move. I can hear some birds in the distance. I've been staring at everything around me for a while. The tall, strong trees surrounding the open field. The birds flying through the sky, living their simple life. I close my eyes to imagine how that must be, flying. But when I open my eyes, the sky isn't blue anymore. It's a soft shade of red and the breeze doesn't smell the ocean anymore. I get up and start running towards my village. Running through that small forest, tripping a couple of times cause my legs feel so tired all of a sudden. And the moment I see my village time seems to slow down. Houses are burning, people are screaming and getting killed. I couldn't move, my body is completely frozen in fear. And then I get a glimpse of the things that are attacking us. Giant creatures with claws that could easily go through me, their body covered in fur. Their heads look like that of a wolf but their mouth was filled with rows of teeth. And it saw me. My body was still unable to move.
Run!
Do something!
The creature noticed I couldn't move and started coming towards me. Smiling at me, showing me all his sharp, long teeth which he would use to rip me apart. All I could do was watch and scream.

I screamed loud, but opened my eyes.
"It was a dream. It was a dream, it's okay. You're alive." Were the words I kept repeating to myself. I looked around, I was still in my tent I set up a couple hours ago. And it was still dark outside. I was shaking, not because I was cold, but because of this dream that has been haunting me for years now. I don't know how much sleep I got, but it should be enough for now. "You've got to keep going now. Sleeping tonight won't be an option anymore, back up your stuff and go." Yes, I was talking to myself. And yes I listened to myself. I put my tent away, grabbed my short sword and my bow and arrow and left. I didn't have much and to be honest this is all I needed. My dad taught me how to hunt and how to defend myself. I could survive in the wilderness, I was fine all on my own.

When the sun started to show it self, giving the sky the beautiful colours of oranges, reds and purple, I reached a small river. It looked clear enough to drink and so I did. I got on my knees and looked down at the water. Two grey-blue eyes looked back at me, they looked empty without any emotions, but also fragile like the person could be broken with only one small touch. I hate the way those eyes looked at me, so I closed them, cupped my hands into the river and drank from it.
A yell coming through the woods infront of me. Foot steps, someone's running, towards me. "Come back here! And give me back what belongs to me." It was a male's voice. They were getting closer to me. I reached towards my sword on my back. A young man ran out of the woods, his face red and sweaty. He was only 100 steps away from me, but he didn't notice me, he was terrified. Looking around him, looking for an escape. He noticed me, his eyes widened and he opened his mouth to say something. But that took him too long, he was too slow because the man that was chasing him was already behind him. He had short brown hair and was wearing something that looked like he was important. Armour in the colours of his Lord, green and yellow. I always tried to stay away from people like him, they never cared about people like me. They usually were out here to kill and hurt those who don't deserve it. I wanted to walk away, not get involved in any of this. I slowly backed up to where I came from. Until I heard the young man screaming, "Please! I did nothing, you can have it back. But please dont hurt me!" He threw something on the ground infront of the brown haired man. It looked like a dagger, its silver shimmering in the morning sun, the gems on the top shining in a bright yellow. He started laughing and so did the guys around him. Wait... he wasn't alone, why did I just notice this. I heard my dad's voice in my head "always be aware of your surroundings." I'll remember that for next time. But I had to make a decision now, stay and maybe help the young man or run so I was safe. "Never get caught." My mom's words echoes in my head. A sentence I would never forget, why she always said this to me I can't remember.
"You think just giving it back will save you?" The man laughed and his friends joined him. The young man was crying and peed himself, which only caused them to laugh even harder. And before I could realise it the man stabbed him through his chest with the weapon that was on the ground just some seconds ago. I had to run, now.
