"You shouldn't have killed him, you know we have better things to do." The voice of one of them got my attention, maybe I should stay a bit more. " We got orders, we have to find this girl. The information we got better be right and she should be here soon." They had to find a girl? This girl would be pretty special if it was an order. "We will find her don't worry, she's probably closer than we think." The man with brown hair looked around him. And then I noticed he saw me, a small smile appeared on his face. "We won't disappoint our Lord." He winked at me and took a small step back into the woods. But he didn't walk away, he disappeared. Leaving a faint mist of light blue behind him. Letting me know he used his power to get away from here. I should stay away from him, far away.

Why would they be looking for a girl? Did she steal something from that man too? No that would be stupid, I doubt Lord Kaye would care about that. He has more important things to do, right? Like important Lord stuff, rule his court or something. Our island is divided in 6 courts. Night, Day, Nature, Water, Wind and Fire. And they all have their own lord.
They're stronger than everyone else. Their powers are terrifying. Normal humans don't have any power, then you have the Aurists they do have power. And the power they have is called Aura, a strength that comes from within, a colour that tells people a lot about them.
The birds started waking up now, their songs coming my way. I closed my eyes just to enjoy this one small moment of the morning sun on my face and those songs. For a second I was scared to open my eyes again. It was a dream and also it was 10 years ago. I opened my eyes, realising I was still hiding in some bushes next to the river. I got up, knowing there was no reason to hide anymore, and walked back into the woods. Time to go hunting.
I've been laying in some bushes for a couple of hours now, my stomach started to make some noises. "Patience Clio, animals don't appear out of thin air. Even though I wished they would."I whispered to myself. I had to ignore the hunger and focus. A noise coming from my right, small hooves, a small deer. I smiled a bit, took my bow and arrow and waited a bit for the small animal to come closer. I lowered my breathing, placed my arrow as quiet as I could on it's place. It was closer, eating some grass and enjoying the sun. It never noticed me, it never saw my arrow coming and it made no noise when my arrow pierced through it's neck, dead. I finally had some food and maybe I could even sell some of it to get some new clothes.

I cleaned the small animal, washed myself and my sword in the river, made a small fire and I ate. I could sell the skin and some meat. I looked down at myself, I was skinny, there wasn't much left of me. You could count my ribs, I wasn't really starving but my body could really appreciate a bit more food every now and then. I packed my stuff and left. The sun was now high up in the sky, the closest town would be 2 hours away, I could easily get there and sell my stuff and so I started walking towards it. If I could get enough money I could maybe even treat myself tonight. But I wouldn't stay too long, not long enough for people to start recognising me. I've been alone ever since my parents died in that horrible attack, I was 8 and couldn't do much. I was left alone in this dangerous world. I was too scared to find any friends, because the loss of my parents and my entire village was already too much. I couldn't remember much of the people in my village. No names, no faces, all I know is that they were my friends and I cared about them. But I also couldn't remember much of my parents. I remember me and my dad hunting and practicing with swords, my mom telling me to never get caught and I promised her I wouldn't.

The town wasn't too big, it had a couple of buildings, some houses and a small market where I could sell my stuff. The sun was already going down, the walk took me longer than I expected, I had to hurry if I wanted to sell my stuff. Thank the lords, the market was still packed with people I had enough time to sell my deer skin and some left over meat. I bought myself some new shoes, because the old ones.. well let's just say I really needed some new ones. I still had some gold coins left. I thought about that treat I could give myself so I looked around me to find a place where I could eat. And there right infront of me was a small tavern. It was old, the bricks were covered in ivy almost all the way to the roof, showing some cracks in the wall above the door, which was wide open but it was still standing, so I walked in. "That story of you was terrible," an old man yelled at another man, "no tragedy, nothing!" He was drunk, obviously. Everyone around him laughed. The men started yelling at each other, I wanted to hear this so I took a table close to them. The inside looked a bit like the outside, one wall fully covered in ivy. The tables were made out of wood and out of the centre grew some beautiful flowers. They loved their Lord. The people of Nature showed their respect through showing what the nature itself gave them. "Can I help you sweetie?" A woman with blonde hair was standing next to me. Her brown eyes looked me up and down, I felt naked as if she could see my soul. "Are you okay? I'll just get some water for you, you look," a small pause, " like you could have a meal too." A wink, a grin and she left without waiting for my answer. I was staring at her, not complaining about anything, it were exactly the things I wanted. "If my story was so bad, why don't you tell one old man?" It was one of the men from before. I looked at them, the so called "old man" didn't look that old. His hair is black with just a couple of grey ones in it, he has some wrinkles around his eyes, probably because he smiled a lot in his life. "I'll tell you one of my stories, be prepared though." He says while getting more comfortable on his chair. The woman was next to me again, placed a glass and a plate with food infront of me. She's looking at me as if I changed in the last couple of minutes, as if I suddenly had grown a third eye. "You can stay the night here." She smiles, but the smile didn't seem as generous as she wants it too. "But I don't have enough gold for it." I think I have just enough to pay for the food. She bends over, her face isn't that far away from mine now. "You look exhausted, see it as a gift from me to you." Something in her eyes makes me want to run away. But I nod and I thank her. I looked at the food, it wasn't too bad, some potatoes and meat with gravy over it. For me it was indeed a treat.
