On the 5th of June I rented a car. I lived up in the mountains and with no car, it wasn't easy to get around.
I rented the car in Moreno Valley, where I used to live. Instead of going straight home, I went to Wal Mart and bought batting and fabric so I could finish a couple of quilts I was making....and then of course, I just had to go visit some friends I knew there. I did some drugs (meth), stayed up most of the night and then my friend and I started back up the mountain. She went with me because I was scared of a bear that had taken a liking to me and who was a peeping Tom! He came to my window every night and watched me. I tried to keep the mini blinds closed but he could still see inside. If he couldn't see me but could hear me sewing, he would go around to that wall and rub up against it! He had me pretty spooked and I asked her to come with me so I wouldn't have to wake up my son.
I made up the bed in the guest room for her, said goodnight, and we went to sleep. The next morning, as I was getting ready to go to my son's, I just knew I had it all under control and no one would be the wiser. I would get in and get out, take my friend home, take the rental car back and go home and everything would be ok. What a dreamer I was.
