A Chance to Change (Success)

Chapter 3

I slowly opened my eyes and looked around. I felt the crust in the cracks of my eyes and I just knew my breath was kicking. Eww, I need to brush my teeth. I got up and stretched. I put on my slippers and made my way to my bathroom. My room is the only room with a full set bathroom. I brushed my teeth and cleaned myself as much as I could. I felt so lazy 'cause I knew it was like 1 o'clock. I changed into some comfy sweats and a nike sports bra.

The moment I stepped outside, I was blessed the sweet smell of pancakes and bacon. Maybe a hint of honey biscuits and grits with jelly. I closed my eyes and glided downstairs and made my way to the kitchen table. I opened my eyes and saw the most beautiful thing in the world.

"Omg!! Food!" I said while my mouth was watering.
My guardian was in a cute lil apron washing the dishes. He turned around and starting laughing at my reaction.
"You say the same thing every time I cook for you girl" he said while slashing some water at me.

"First of all, don't get water on my food before I come over there. Second of all, I get like this because your cooking is almost as good as mine and i looooovvveee a good meal" I said while eyeing this masterpiece in front of me. Shawn was my guardian and he is the chillest person out here. Nobody has ever seen him in a apron but me. He would kill me if I put pictures of him on insta like this. But me and him go way back. He knew me since I was a kid. He 34 and look good for his age. He gets a lot of attention from hoes but he knew that I know he will always have my back. He will always take my side over anyone's. I'm like his baby girl.
"I'm just so thankful to have you in my life Shawn" I say with a gentle smile while looking him in the eye.

If he had lighter skin, he would be blushing right now. He just stares at me for a while then say "I'm thankful to be in your life. Now hurry and eat before your food gets cold." He turns around and finishes the dishes. I smile evilly and sneak behind him. I wrap my arms around his waist and give him a big hug. He get all nervous when I get touchy feelly with him. Maybe he just shy around me.

"Hey! Whatcha doing girl" he says while trying to move my arms from around him. I laugh and just hold him tighter.

" I'm showing you some appreciation!"

"You don't need to show it! Just move!" He yells.

I act hurt and go back to my food. I eat with a frown on my face "fine I won't give you hugs anymore"

"Urghh you know damn well you lying. Just hurry up and eat" he says while pouting. He then whispers "why she always do this to me"

"What was that?" I raise a eyebrow.

"Nuthin. Just eat and leave before I kick you out!" He tries to joke.
Shawn sometimes act strange around me. He never lets me hug or touch him. I'm his baby girl but recently he's been acting a lil distant. Maybe I should stop messin with him for now.

I finish my food and then go outside for a walk. I think about my life so far. About all the drama that goes down and how I want to change people life's. Some much has happened to me in the past. I just want things to be different for other people. Maybe then I can let go of everything and be free.
