That One Trip

When It Started

It was Monday, I turned off my alarm clock that was beeping on my bedside table. I yawn as I sat up and glanced at the clock to check what time it was.

I quickly got up and grabbed my glasses running towards my bathroom. From a distance I hear a voice,

"Maya! Maya! Have you gotten up yet?!"

"Y-Yes! Im washing my face!"

As I ran out the bathroom door, my room door shut open.

"Hurry up May!! We're goin' to be late!"

"I k-know! Im almost finish!", I answered as my best friend, Leira who was making crazy fake siren noises that was really loud.. I quickly grabbed my sling bag and wrapped a green scarf around my neck.

"Geez, what time did you sleep last night?"

"I don't know, 2 a.m? don't people my age sleep that time? " I said as Leira hurriedly hushed me downstairs.

I slid down the stairs holding on to the rail and accidentally bumped into someone on the end.

"Oww?!" he said backing away slowly as he rubbed his shoulder.

"Sorry, Kane! Move!"

I ran for the door and saw Leira giving a pat on the back to Kane.

I pulled my front door open and saw a red shining vehicle right in front of my eyes.

"Maya!! Get your ass up in here! We're going to get our face punched if we're late!"

"I'm coming, I'm coming!"

I jumped inside the backseat of the car followed by Leira and Kane. The car drove off when Kane barely got inside.

"So, what's today's schedule, Fynn?"

"It's-"

"We're goin' on a roadtrip!!" Leira cut off Fynn and jumped over to the passenger seat.

"What?"

I looked at Fynn through the mirror and he nodded with those chic sunglasses he was wearing.

"So I woke up at 6.00 a.m just for a roadtrip?!"

"Uhh, Yeah, Well, it's kinda important so-,"

"At least tell me where are we going, I could've prepared a whole lot more clothes for today!" I cut off Kane as he was going to continue his 'innocent-talking'.

"Don' worry hun, I brought much more than enough for both of us." Leira said as she pointed to the trunk from the window. The car was going extremely fast I don't even think I can actually see Leira's hand at that moment.

"We're going to pick Sam from his uncle's house. So please, make room."

"Did you just call me big?"

Fynn chuckled. "Heck no."

"Did you just chuckled at your own answer?"

"Okay, just make room okay, this car isn't that much big as your ego."

"Ohoho, It's on-"

"Guys, not now. Right now, Sam might kill us if this car got blown away before we see him." Leira said as she spread her arms creating a massive gap between me and Fynn.

"So, where are we going after this?" I said looking at Kane.

He gave me a closed smile causing dimples to appear on his pale cheeks.

"Kane.." I gave a smirk.

"We are, umm. We're currently heading to-"

"We're going to Japan!!! Woooohho!!" Leira said letting her hands up in the air.

"..What?"
