Jez's POV
I sat upright, shaking the sleep out of my eyes, and realized my house had been transported by some unearthly force, to a huge sprawling desert. I guessed that this was the powers of the game. I suddenly shot up to my feet, upon realizing Lilly was nowhere to be found. My friend had a penchant for getting herself into bad relationships, and what had happened a few minutes ago was just one example. She was reckless, and she let whatever emotion she was feeling currently lead all her decisions!
I looked about, taking in the dishevelled state of my house. When all of a sudden, an army of little black creatures wearing top hats and sporting sharp little ebony knives and spears. I realized they were definitely hostile and I needed to act quickly. I pulled out my weapon of choice, dual boomerangs, and gave them a throw, decapitating several of the creatures.
I figured out they were imps, little terrors that Steve had warned me about before I entered the game. As the two that I had killed disintegrated, they left shiny blue diamonds on the floor. All of a sudden, they was a bright green flash and a slash of brutal claws, and when I opened my eyes, all the imps were gone and there was Lilly, picking up the little multicolored diamonds.
"Wh-wh-what?" I stuttered. Brilliant, Jezebel, absolutely sparkling dialog! I looked at Lilly, but there was something very different about her. She had two fuzzy bear claws and a top hat, she was still wearing her comic dress, but it glowed green, and she floated a few inches off the ground.
"Oh hey Jez. What's up?" She said nonchalantly.
"Oh, nothing. Just the fact that you somehow transformed into a fucking teddy bear!"
"Yeah, there was that. But I don't really mind. Not much is different, and I always wanted to be able to float." She was putting a pretty positive spin on this.
"Oh, well. I need to get back into contact with Steve and get started on my way up to the portal." I told her. She nodded and said, "Okey-dokey. I'll go make sure there's no more imps. Here, put these grist into your storage compartment so Steve can use it to build." With that she floated off. It would take me a while to get used to that. I plopped the diamonds, or 'grist' into the chest that appeared in the corner while I was out.
Then I went through my handbag, to find a new weapon. I pulled out my boomerangs, a weapon more suited to me then the knives. I stepped out the door into the bright sunny desert of the Land Of Sand And Sun. I decided I wouldn't return until I got a pester message from Steve on my iPhone. I didn't know if connections had been lost or what, but if he truly cared, he'd be with me in no time flat. But only time would tell.
No-one's POV
In a dark room back on earth, a tall, muscular boy was whaling on a punching bag, slowly ebbing out his frustration. His advanced computer was keeping tabs on all his companions, and he had seen what Lilly had done. She might have just ruined the whole game, and she had certaintly ruined Eagle's plan.
"Computer, bring me the camera footage for Sara Madon's room, stat." Eagle demanded.
A serene, computerized, female voice sounded out, "Yes, master Eagle. The subject is currently in slumber. What would you like to do?"
"Prepare to commence full emmersion for the Witch of Rage."
