It's your first day of ninth grade,
You go to your first class,
Using your shyness to open up.
You go to your second class,
You do the same but this time,
Someone opens up to you too.
Since you both are new, fresh out of middle school,
You have lunch together.
Getting to know one another and realizing,
You made a new friend.
You don't know if it's temporary but hey,
You enjoy their presence.
You grow as time flies by and you feel the summer breeze hug you, the Sun shines and it is summer break.
You and your friend have spent the new school year together and built each other up.
You're gonna miss them.
You still don't know how long it will last but hey,
You still cherish it.
It's been over a year and it still feels like the first day.
