The peel of our doorbell ringing made me jump, my heart racing. We'd been watching horror films for maybe an hour. Or rather Dreece and Rhett had been watching them, I'd spent most of the movie with my eyes covered and curled up against Rhett in fear. I couldn't say when his arm had ended up around my shoulders offering comfort.

Straightening I sent Dreece a confused look, wondering if they had invited someone else over I wasn't aware of. Their expression mirrored mine though before they reached out and paused the movie.

"I wonder who that could be? I didn't invite anyone else over." They mumbled before getting up and heading for the door. Sighing softly I snuggled back down into the touch, just barely pressing up against Rhett.

"You doing okay?" The words brushed against my ear as he stretched an arm back around me. "I hope you don't mind me holding you."

"I don't mind, it's helping make this whole movie experience more manageable," I replied, my face heating up. I could hear Dreece opening the door behind us.

"Oh, hi... what are you doing here?" Something about the way Dreece spoke caught me off guard. The mixture of surprise and concern had me turning on the couch to look over the back toward the front door.

"I was stopping by to check on Ryan." Nathan stood at the door arms crossed as he looked around the room. I went to duck out of sight when his eyes latched onto me, anger burning in them. "I thought you said you were sick Ryan."

Nathan shoved past Dreece, earning him a glare from behind. Watching my boyfriend storm into the room filled me with dread. I quickly extricated myself from Rhett's arm.

"I... I am... I've been having cramps and a bit of nausea all day..." Nathan towered over me, clearly able to see the three mugs of lukewarm cocoa and our array of snacks that had grown during the movie.

"I see and that gives you a good enough reason to lie to me and to break your promise?" Nathan snarled, his anger hitting me in the chest, leaving me struggling to breathe.

"I... I..."

"The snacks were my idea. You can't honestly expect Ryan to live off of vegetables and protein, can you? He deserves to have a cheat day once in a while." Dreece replied squaring off against Nathan.

"Stay out of this Dreece, it's between me and Ryan." The tension in the air was almost palpable. Next to me, Rhett's body tensed, ready to jump to our friend's defense if things got messy.

"You come storming into my apartment, yelling at my friend in front of me, so that makes me a part of it." Dreece snarled.

"Dreece... it... it's okay. Nathan why don't we head to my room and talk." My own voice barely penetrated the air, only just managing to break the death stare going on between Dreece and Nathan.

Dreece turned to me, clearly ready to argue more, but I held up my hand, silently asking them to let me deal with it. Nathan grunted in response before nodding. The tension in the air didn't fade as I stood up, vacating my spot on the couch.

Walking around the couch I would reach for Nathan's hand, only to have him pull away. The refusal sent an ache through my chest, my shoulders slumping before I moved down the hall to my room. Silence followed me for a moment before Nathan joined in.

Once inside I closed the door, locking it before turning to Nathan. He sneered at the clutter and mess strewn across my floor, adding more heat to my already burning face.

"I want you to move it with me." His words, when Nathan finally spoke, shocked me to the core.

"You... what? Isn't... isn't it a bit soon to be thinking about moving in with one another?" My voice wavered in confusion at the request. I'd been certain we were about to break up from the waves of anger rolling off of him.
