A/N : Hi guys! This is my first JB fanfiction and I want to make a few things clear before we start. I have adapted some things to make this story work as I want. At the beginning of the story, my OC Natalia is 18, OC Emma is 19, Nick is 20, Joe 23, Kevin, 25. Kevin and Dani are married and have Alena and Dani is pregnant with Valentina. Joe and Sophie are not together and nor are Nick and Priyanka. I have nothing against either Sophie or Priyanka but for this story they are not together. It is based in London at the beginning but who knows where it will head...

On with the story!

"Don't be so stupid T. Take your equipment." My best friend Emma said sternly. I have Type 1 Diabetes, and I just want one normal night out, with my best friend at a concert for my favourite band. One night... One night without testing. One night without injecting. One normal night. I'm 18 for god's sake!

"Don't worry Em. It's one night, if I get low I'll buy juice, it's not the end of the world."

"It could be." She argued, "You get low really quickly and you do it in style, you know this Talia. You can't be nonchalant with your health."

"Please Emma. You don't know what it's like. I was diagnosed at age 12, I just want to be a normal teenager for the first time in my life. I just want one night." Emma sighed in resignation, she knew how important this was to me.

"At least take an orange juice or something. I won't make you test or anything, you know when you're low, but you can't do that to yourself again." I nodded and let her put it in my bag. I had no intention on actually taking it with me but I knew she wouldn't give in.

"Fine. Can we go now? We're going to see the Jonas Brothers! Chill out Em and enjoy the rollercoaster!" She rolled her eyes but picked up her keys to get going to the o2 arena.

It was supposed to be the best night of our lives, and it was, until about halfway through...

I knew instantly that something was wrong. I should have trusted Emma's gut, should have listened.

I was low - and deteriorating fast.

It started with dizziness.

Then the tingling started.

Black spots blurred my vision as I swayed.

Then nothing...

Was this it...

NICK POV

London truly is a magnificent place. Kevin, Joe and I were playing one of the best shows of the year, when I spotted her.

She was beautiful. Long dark hair, cascading in loose curls down her back. She was dancing with a blonde girl, looking so free and relaxed. You could tell some of the songs meant so much to her, tears escaping down her cheeks at times. I was transfixed. My eyes locked to the stunner in the third row.

It was then that I noticed something was very wrong.

Her swaying suddenly became less rhythmic and musical and more out of control. Her hands began clenching and unclenching and her eyes shot open wide - panicked. She put her hands on her hips to steady herself, her shirt riding up slightly. I spotted a small device on her side, one that I recognised instantly.

She's diabetic...

And something was going very wrong...

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It didn't take me long to work out what was going on. She's diabetic and her sugars were wrong, very wrong by the looks of things. I couldn't work out why she wasn't testing and sorting it out. I continued to watch her, waiting for her to pull out a familiar kit. When she didn't and she began to sway more, I began to panic. Her friend hadn't seemed to notice, too caught up in the music. No one but me seemed to have noticed.

Suddenly, I lost sight of her and a circle formed around someone on the floor. The brunette beauty had collapsed and she needed help fast.

I broke choreography and made my way over to Kevin casually. I pointed to my omnipod while Joe sung his solo, Kevin looked at me concerned when I shook my head and pointed to the small crowd gathering around the girl. He nodded as I made my way to the back of the stage starting my solo. He made his way to Joe and I knew they would cover me, they knew I needed to make sure she was okay.

As soon as the song finished, I rushed off the stage, as quickly as I could without arising suspicion. I moved to the backstage entrance closest to her and filled the security guys in. They quickly radioed for back-up and went to retrieve the young girl and her friend from the sea of fans, while I waited anxiously.

They returned quickly with the blonde in toe, she barely registered my presence, too concerned about her friend. I ushered them through to my nearby dressing room and motioned to the small sofa. I grabbed my testing kit and rushed over, preparing the machine. I wasted no time in pricking her finger, knowing how important time was.

I paled at the figures and looked to the security and her friend still stood around us.

"Call an ambulance George, tell them she's hypoglycemic and to hurry." I spoke softly to the security guard, rustling through my bag looking for a glucose shot. She was so low.

"Why? What's going on? Nick? It's her diabetes isn't it!" Her friend cried, understandably distressed. I ignored her temporarily and referenced the other guard, not taking my eyes off the girl.

"Alan, radio the boys. Tell them we need to take an interval." I found the shot and administered it swiftly, my other hand stroking her forehead, brushing her hair out of her face.

"Thank you." Her friend whispered. "I told her to bring her kit, she didn't listen, I didn't know what to do when she collapsed like that. Her name is Natalia by the way, and I'm Emma."

Natalia. It suited her I decided.

A few minutes later and my brothers rushed in.

"Nick! What's happening? Is she okay?" Kevin asked quickly but calmly, placing his hand on my shoulder.

"16." I felt Kevin tense instantly. "Severely hypoglycemic."
