“Move your fat ass, Claire!” My voiced boomed. Claire just glared at me from the mirror and put a hand on her hip. “Just be patient Saraphine, I’m almost done.” She moved swiftly and quickly as she applied liquid eyeliner on her top eyelid. Today was Thanksgiving and we have to eat with the whole pack.
Today was the dreaded day that most of the chefs complained about.
I wouldn’t blame them either, our pack were pigs. I just wished that we had women to control their men, but the number of men in our pack outnumbered the women mainly because my father keeps bringing these men who were mateless and needed a home. “And..done” Claire took a step back to admire her work and I groaned loudly as I walked in front of the mirror.
I did little makeup as I possibly could, only to cover up the blemishes that were starting to surface. I curled my hair and pulled it gently into a ponytail, adding a black bow into it. I stared at myself for moment, realizing that I had dressed myself up as a girly girl, but I didn’t mind. Claire came out from the closet with two dresses in her hands.
“Pick one.” She demanded. In the right hand she had a short black strapless dress with a white belt while the other hand had an office-like suit. I pointed to the short black, strapless dress and she threw it to me and carelessly throwing the other onto the bed. I stripped off all my clothes and easily slipped into the shot dress, adding a leather jacket to it.
I walked into my shoe closet to find my ankle fitted boots until someone knocked on my bedroom door. I quickly rushed over to the door to see Reese standing behind it. He was wearing a tuxedo with fire lilies in his hands. “Beautiful Flowers for a beautiful girl.” He smirked as I took my favorite flowers from his hands, “You’re so cheesy, but thank you for the flowers.” I kissed his cheek. I didn’t find the place to tell him that I had already found my mate, but Ayden is going to to have to wait. I didn’t want him anyway.
Claire came into the room to hand me my black, ankle boots then said hello to Reese. He gave her a sweet smile before focusing back to me. “We’ll meet you downstairs!” I yelled out to Claire. I closed the door as I wrapped my arm around Reese’s.
“Shall we?”
“We Shall.”
Reese P.O.V*
As much as I wanted Saraphine to be my mate, she wasn’t. I didn’t have any guts to tell her that I already found my mate, I just don’t know how she would take it. I mean come on, my mate was like her best friend we’re talking about! I didn’t want to lead Sara on, I really don’t but I can’t help myself. If I reject my mate, She will tell her and will hate me forever.
I sat down next to Saraphine and searched around for the girl that was destined for me. My wolf was shaking with excitement, but was still pissed off that I was sitting with a different girl and not our mate. I shut him out and tried to forget about my mate and try to focus on the beautiful girl that was next to me.
She is not our mate. Gail growled and I mentally rolled my eyes.
I know that Gail, I can’t help that my feelings are more overpowering. I retorted as I blocked him out from having to deepen this short argument. I wasn’t in the mood for his lecturing about touching Saraphine the way I should touch my mate, but I ignored him. I didn’t want her. Once my mate’s upcoming birthday passes, she will know that I’m her mate, and I’ll reject her. I’ll reject her for the girl that I’ve had a crush on since we were pups.

Saraphine P.O.V*
As I watch everyone ready to reach for the food, I immediately cover my dress with a large napkin so I would stain it as food flew everywhere. My dad looked over at claire and I before nodding. We both stood up as the huge crowd hushed in silence.
“Members of Dark Knight Pack, today we are here to celebrate a holiday where we bring joy and happiness to the table and have a nice gathering as a pack and as a family,” Claire started, I wanted to groan loudly as I had the same part of the speech I had to memorize for the past 5 years of my life. “As we come together, remember this night as the moon goddess bless us with our many abilities and gifts that we have today, without her, we would be worthless humans.” My father’s head soon snapped around to look at me as those words slipped from my mouth.
Claire was about to say something, but I suddenly hushed her, “Today, I’m thankful for everyone who could be here and the one’s that couldn’t. Everyone should be thankful for something, and if you aren’t then you have done serious issues.” I heard some people chuckle at my comment before I could continue. “Well, enough with the sappy talk, Happy Thanksgiving everyone and don’t get too drunk, we still have school tomorrow!”
Everyone roared with jubilance as they digged into the turkeys, getting a slice of heaven. I looked over at my father who just glared at me for not following the speech that he made me memorize, but I shrugged him off. Reese handed my a huge turkey leg and I smiled him before I sank my teeth into the juicy meat.

Well Happy Early Thanksgiving guys, I updated this really early because I'm going away for the holiday so as I promised here is the chapter, Next chapter we will continue back to the main story. I'll be doing something like this until the end of the story so yeah, I kinda had fun writing this chapter.
