Chapter 1

Never forget you may be of devil descent but you are an elf and I have claimed you as my son. I love you Maxwell.

That's all I remember of a dream I had. Who is talking to me? "Max the Wizard King needs you." I look up from the river to see Marx looking at me through a portal. "Alright Marx tell him I'll be there soon." Marx nods and I look back at the river staring at my reflections different colored eyes. "What am I?" I use my light magic to end up at the Capitol of Clover Kingdom. "Max how can you do that without opening your grimoire?" I look at the Wizard King. "I told you already Julius I'm not sharing my secrets with someone who probably watches me." Julius looked like he got slapped and I giggled. "I called you here cause I have some people I'd like you to meet." I perk up when he says that. "They just got back from a dungeon and I know you like those kinds of stories." I was trying incredibly hard not to freak out. Julius leads me outside and I see mostly people from Golden Dawn and two from the Black Bulls. "Who's the old flashy guy." I cover my mouth to stifle a giggle. I look at the blond shorty who said that. "That's the Wizard King, Julius, you fool." I sense a Spirit and I smile seeing her hanging around the Black haired teen. "Sylph!" Everyone looks at me. "You can see her?" I nod to Julius. I follow the group and I smile at Sylph. Soon the others explain the mission while the Black haired boy hands over his grimoire. I look at it and I go wide eye. "Julius she chose this kid." I whisper to him and he nods. After he gives the boy his grimoire back the blond shows Julius his. I go wide eye seeing what's written. "So you have my father's sword." Only Julius heard me when I whispered that. "You finally remembered?" I look at Julius confused. "What?" Julius shook his head then smiled. Soon all of us were walking to the Decoration Ceremony. "Sir who's the kid with you?" I hear the blond ask. "He's my friend and he helps me with errands. His name is Max." I wave over my shoulder. "What's your magic?" I hear the Black haired kid ask. "Light." We arrive and I wave to the captain's and Lieutenants. Soon I was left with the others after Julius gave the promotions. I watched the blond make a fool of himself causing me to start laughing. I soon walk up to the kid. "Mind if I ask for your name?" He tells me through his full mouth it's Asta and the Black haired kid is Yuno. "Max don't be friends with them." I lose my smile when I hear the others insult the ones I came in with. I feel my grimoire slowly come from its holster as the clover on the back started glowing. After Noelle was insulted Asta stepped up. He was angry that they upset Noelle but before he could finish the golden dawn lieutenant attacked him then both of Noelle's older siblings attacked. However Asta broke through their attacks. Before Asta and Solid could attack Nozel unleashed his killer intent. However Fuegoleon interrupts them which caused the tension to simmer down. Everyone looked at me.  "Max you ok?" I tilt my head then I blink when I feel my grimoire. "Oh oops sorry." Nozel and Fuegoleon unleash their mana but we were alerted to the Kingdom being attacked. I don't hesitate I look at the captains who look at me. "I need you all to find Julius and tell him to get that ready for me. The captain's nod sweat going down there face. "What is he talking about." I don't hear if anyone responds because I open my grimoire for a split second before using my magic to teleport outside. "Max!" I see Marx through a portal. "Julius says it's ready but be careful there's alot of negativity in the air." I nod grabbing my necklace Julius made me. "Light Magic: Arrows of Judgement." I watch as my grimoire opens and a massive orb of mana appears above. The orb shapes itself into millions of arrows that I send after the mana signature I'm not use to. I close my eyes seeing the signatures disappear only for more to appear. "Marx alert everyone that these are undead made from someone's mana." I hear Marx agree then his portal closes. "Now then since my arrows didn't work lets try this. Light Magic: Light Sword of Judgement." Again my mana appears around me this time however it becomes multiple shards with four lines going through them that fly at the undead. I sense Asta going to a mana signature I don't know. I use my magic to teleport to him just in time as the man was running at a little girl. I grab the girl before teleporting her away then reappears next to Asta. "I got your back Asta!" He grins and I smirk before we look at the man. I feel my Devil magic switch with my light which caused me to frown. "Asta I have a secret to tell you." Asta looks at me but that's what the man wanted. I pushed Asta away as a giant undead slammed his fist against me. I managed to summon a Demon Light sword before the impact. I slide a few feet before more swords appear that impale the undead. "Don't worry Asta I'm ok go deal with that guy." I grin at Asta trying to hide my broken wrist. "Light Healing Magic: Healing Ray of Light." I managed to calm down enough my magic returned to Light and I used it to heal my wrist. I see the brother of Fuegoleon run to Asta but our opponent brought forth a powerful undead. "Number Four: Jimmy." I narrow my eyes when Asta is hit. The man sends Jimmy after Asta but I get between them. "Mana Zone: Light Sword of Judgement." I raise my hand as a mana zone was created around me which I used to make one massive sword that could be seen for miles. "W what are you!?!" I look at the man. "I am a citizen of this country." I let my arm drop which caused my sword to drop. "That's way too big Max!" I raise my other arm. "Light Creation Magic: Cornelius's Phalanx." After the smoke cleared I heard Asta freak out so I look to see him, Noelle, and Fuegoleon's brother were protected by a shield with the symbol of the Clover Kingdom on it. "I made it in time good." I sigh loudly then I hear the man yell. "Don't think I'll let some punk like you get away with that. Number 2 Alfred!" I turn to see a torso with only it's head rise. I barely blocked it's lightning with my Phalanx. "Light Creation Magic: Caesar's spear." I lean back and raises my right arm while keeping my left arm at my side. My mana formed a three foot spear with a yellow feather on its spearhead. "That mana is familiar." I hear the guy say but I let my spear go which impaled Alfred and the undead disintegrated. I narrow my eyes before my grimoire raises to my hand then opens up. "Max that's enough." I hear Fuegoleon but I ignore him as Demon Light Swords appear around me aimed at the man. However spatial magic appeared around me and Fuegoleon. "Captain what's going on?" Fuegoleon looks at me then Asta. Soon we were in a strange place. "Maxwell?" I look to see a familiar face but I knew I didn't know him. "Max you know him?" I shake my head. "That's ok my friend you'll remember soon enough." I gasp when Fuegoleon gets defeated and loses his right arm while the man takes the stone from around his neck. "Maxwell I'm sorry he was your friend wasn't he?" I wanted to attack this man but I couldn't, I felt so happy around this man. "You remember don't you? I'm your friend." I remember someone saying that to me. He reaches for me and I hesitantly grab it. "You don't need to worry." Soon we were inside a cave and I blink. "That's like my spell." The man smiled then nods. "You have the same magic attribute as me." I perk up. "You have Devil magic and Light?" I see the man's pointed ears. "An elf? I've read about them but I don't think someone like an elf could possibly ever do what they claimed." I notice for a quick second anger in his eyes but it was hidden. "Maxwell you are an elf as well come here." I walk up to him and he places his hand on my shoulder. I gasp when I remember who this is. I hug him tightly. "Patry!" I hear him chuckle and hugs me. "I've missed you my friend. But you aren't resurrected so how are you here?" I look up at him. "I think I died that night and my soul was reincarnated along with my magic." Paltry nods. I look behind him to see three people looking at me. "Wait is that who I think it is?" I see the three remove their hoods and I can't help but smile. "Raia! Vetto and Fana too?" I walk up to them and smiles. "Well if isn't Licht's son Maxwell." I lose my smile hearing my father's name. "He isn't awake is he?" They look at me. "Maxwell you can sense Licht?" I nod hearing Patry. "I may not be his by blood but I know my father." At that moment I gasp and I feel my mana start to soar rapidly. The four quickly jump into action and they seal me in a barrier. I slowly feel myself calming down. "S sorry... I didn't mean for that to happen..." When I was set free Patry smiles at me. "Your fine Maxwell. You have to return though don't you?" I hear the sadness in his voice. "I'm sorry Patry but I'll make sure to come back when I can!" Patry smiles sadly at me then nods. I turn to see humans walking in and I see one of them was the one who attacked the Clover Kingdom. "Why is that brat here? He's the one who attacked me!" I flinch when Patry frowns. "He didn't realize who he was. He's one of us from now on. Did you locate the other stones?" They shake their heads and I look at Patry who shows me the one he took from Fuegoleon. "We need to gather the Magic Stones to resurrect everyone again." I nod then smiles. "I'll help you from the inside the Wizard King is my friend. Patry are you sharing a body with Vangeance?" Patry nods and I wave bye to everyone before teleporting back to the Clover Kingdom. "Has anyone seen Max? He was with Fuegoleon when both were taken the enemy but only Fuegoleon was seen." I wince hearing Julius. I walk to him and he turns to see me. "Sorry Julius I couldn't stop then from hurting Fuegoleon but I tried." Julius puts his hand on my shoulder. "I'm glad your safe what happened? Who attacked you two?" I sigh softly. "After they assaulted Fuegoleon I lost control and my Devil magic went crazy. I chased them pretty far out of the Kingdom but I lost them when more of his subordinates showed up. I didn't see what he looked like cause he wore a mask and had his hood up." Julius nods before I sigh softly again. "When did you get that tattoo under your eye?" I perk up then walks to a mirror where I see a red tear drop that lead to a flower. "I don't remember." I wave bye then heads to my home. I sigh loudly before looking at my cheek in a mirror. "Can't believe I met Patry and the others again." I smile then looks up feeling Licht. "I can't wait to see you again father." I smile once more before I fall asleep. The next day I was sitting next to Fuegoleon's bed watching him sleep. The doctors said he's stable but in a coma. "I'm sorry Captain I didn't do anything to help you." I look at his right arm seeing he's missing all of it up to his elbow. I sigh softly then stands up and heads out. I end up running into Leo. "Oh it's you Max. I'm happy your here. Thank you for trying to avenge Fuegoleon." I nod and walks past him. I found out that after Fuegoleon and I were taken the magic knights sent to defend the the capitol were snatched by similar spatial magic then a witch attacked. Yuno was able to beat back the witch. "Max just in time." I see Julius waiting for me. I knew why he was here instead of any where else. Julius knew I lied when I came back. "I'd like the truth now that we're alone." I sigh then explains what actually happened. "Incredible your saying you finally remembered and the ones who attacked where your friends from your old life?" I nod which caused Julius to sigh. "I appreciate you telling me." I nod then looks down and I feel a weight in my pocket. I place my hand in it to feel a stone in it. "I know it's difficult for you right now Max but I want you to know that I'm here for you." I nod softly before Julius left. I pull the stone out to see it was somehow colored like my Grimoire. One side was red with a white star while the other side was the same but the color scheme was flipped. I stared into it feeling something comforting about this stone. I hid the stone when I hear people coming out of their homes to start the day. I smile at a few of them before heading to Julius.
