Chapter 2

I yawn softly while listening to Marx. I glance at the stone in my hand. "Max what's up you've glanced at your hand multiple times now?" I blink hearing Julius. "When we talked earlier this morning I felt a weight in my pocket. This stone is similar to my Grimoire." I show him it and he looks at the stone. "That is peculiar do you know how it got there?" I shake my head and he looks at it seriously. "Maybe it's meant to be yours. Do what you will with it." I smile then puts it back in my pocket. Soon I was busy helping Julius with some errands. Around noon I had a break so I went home and grabbed a necklace with an three empty sockets. I place the stone inside a socket and it fit perfectly. I smile placing the necklace around my neck before I head back to Julius. "I know your still slightly recovering from facing off with the Midnight Sun but I want you to give me that map Julius." Julius looks at me. "I'm gonna go explore and maybe find some things out. Not many people know me so it shouldn't be too difficult." Julius hands me a map of the entire continent. I wave bye before teleporting to the Forbidden Realm and I land on top of the demon skull. I look at the statue of the First Wizard King. "I wish I could meet you once more dad." I smile sensing Asta. "Father I wish you could meet my friend. He's loud and super obnoxious... but he holds your ideals. I think I'll protect him. So when you wake up you can see that your dream came true." I look at the First Wizard King. "I miss you also sir. I can't explain it but I believe your not dead just like my dad your sleeping." I place my hand on the statue and I nearly jump when I feel his mana. My eyes go wide along with my smile. "Well is she also alive?" I look all over the place before blinking. "Wait a minute is she what I think she is sir?" I get excited then teleports to Asta. I see the bird pecking him. "Nero!" Asta and the bird looks at me. "Max when did you get here?" I shrug then I look at Nero. "Come here Nero." Asta looks at me. "Nero doesn't really like anyone else." I grin when Nero lands on my shoulder. "Whaaat!?!" I smile then I look at her. "I know your secret Nero. I'll explain later at the statue ok?" Nero nods then I perk up. I wave bye. "Why don't you come help?" I shake my head curious as to what he means. "Sorry I'm doing something for the Wizard King." Asta nods then waves bye so I teleport to Patry. "Hello Maxwell. I'm told you are close to the Wizard King besides his assistants your the one he goes to." I nod and Patry looks at me. "How did you get so close to the strongest mage in the Kingdom?" I look at my hand. "He found me when I was a baby and he's been my caretaker ever since." Patry nods and I look at the others. "So why are you here?" I shrug. "I told you last time I'd come visit when I can. I don't like being around humans all the time." I chuckle but noticed Patry's angry look that was replaced by a fake smile. "Patry don't hide your emotions from me. I'm not like the others who are fine with it." Patry chuckled and nods. "Very well Maxwell. Don't you remember what they did to us?" I nod and I place his hand in mine. "I need to know where the rest of my magic stones are." Patry looked at me then shook his head. "I'm sorry Maxwell Licht had them scattered when you disappeared that night." I nod then looks at my necklace. "I gotta go Patry I'll see you when I can." Patry nods so I return to Julius. "Hey you can have a day off. I know you've been getting close to that Asta go have fun." I smile and nods before heading out. I greet everyone until I accidentally run into someone. I see it's a member of the Black Bulls. "Your in my way to see Marie." I see the guy glaring at me so I smile. "Sorry I am looking for someone." The guy walks around me so I follow him. "So who's Marie?" The man immediately pushes a photo in my face of a blond girl. "This is my goddess Marie and it's her birthday." I glance at his face and I almost giggle when I see he had a bloody nose. "I can see why you say that." The man froze for a second then nods. "I'm happy you understand but stay away from her." I nod softly. "Can I meet her?" He looks at me then nods. I smile and using my magic I create a rose of light. "Is this a perfect gift for her?" The man was in awe. "I didn't know someone like you could understand beauty. You hang around Asta." I smile then waits as he enters a toy store and comes out with every toy. I sense Asta suddenly and I giggle. When we arrive the man froze seeing Asta playing with Marie. I nearly giggle when the dude attack Asta. I walk up to Marie. "Hello I am Max and I'm friends with Asta. I heard from your big brother it's your bday so I created this." I show her the sparkling rose. Her face lit up when I handed her the rose. "Gauche I wouldn't do that Max will kill you." I perk up and I turn around to see the guy with his grimoire out. "I wouldn't do that Gauche. I have you surrounded." Gauche froze when he noticed my mana all over the place. "How did you do that?" I glare at him before a Sister from the church comes. Gauche and the Sister argue before she takes Marie away. Asta and I are invited to Rebecca's place for the night. I giggle sensing Noelle but I remain quiet. "Mister how did you make that rose? It was pretty." I put my food down when one of the kids asked. I don't answer instead I create a sunflower. "Wooow!! What can you do!?!" I smile and I put on a show. I felt so happy hearing everyone watching cheer. "Thank you for entertaining them." I smile hearing Rebecca. "Pleasure is all mine." I sit down next to Noelle. "So a royal follows someone she claims is below her." Noelle nearly chokes on her food causing me to giggle. We listen to Rebecca and her kids which caused Noelle to freak out internally. "Yea I don't believe you don't care Noelle." I giggle seeing her face so I leave her be and I call it a night. I was laying in my bed when I sense mana. I look outside pinpointing the source and I jump away to follow the source. I watch from my vantage point as all the kids head to the mountains. I smirk using Julius trick to make myself look like one of the kids before quickly getting in line. I adopt a dull stare while following them. I end up sitting next to Marie. I watch her break free of the spell. "Marie it's me Max." She looks at me then the one who put them under the spell comes to us. "Seems my spell broke." After Marie argued about what friends meant the guy slapped her. I see a man come from deeper in the cave. He choked out the smaller man for hitting Marie. He then looked at every one then his eyes landed on me. "I incredible that one had an insane amount of mana." I watch the bigger guy began to drain the kids of their mana. He got to me and Marie that's when I decided to show myself. I change to my normal form before picking Marie up and holding her in my arm. "Marie I need you to cover your ears please." She does and I let my grimoire float to my hand. "Light magic: Light Sword of Judgement." Multiple swords appear around me and I narrow my eyes. "Marie!" I see Gauche before I block his spell with one of my swords. "I'll kill you for touching my Goddess!" I create more swords around him but they all turned black. "I'll kill you all." Marie looked at me in fear but I turn them to the two men. "You think I'll allow you to hurt Marie and the other kids." Asta and the Sister show as I let my spell lose. Asta stops it then complains about how dangerous that was. "That kids magic is insane." I feel spatial magic so I look up to see the human from the Midnight Sun. "So your who wanted the kids magic." Before she could respond she was surrounded by my magic. "Licht warned us about you. Baro you failed me. Asta! It's nice to see you so soon." She created a Salamander from gel then flew at us. Asta and Gauche's attacks missed. She managed to catch Asta but Sister saved him. Sister stepped in front of Asta but she looked at me. "Sister can you guard the others?" She looks at me before losing the color in her face. "Y your mana." I smile at her before facing the enemies. "Your scary." The lady from the Midnight Sun jabs Baro with a needle. "Asta Max I'll be taking you both home." Baro loses himself and becomes a mud monster. Gauche takes Marie and flees. "Seems he is a coward. Asta Sister take the kids and leave. I'll handle these two." I raise my hand watch as the cave fills up with my mana. "Mana Zone: Light Sword of Judgement." The cave fills up with my Swords. "Max you can't do this on your own." I look at Sister then Asta. "I'm not alone besides you two need to protect them my magic is out of control because of my emotions." They watch my swords turn black and I see them spring into action. "Ooo you can change your magics attribute?" I aim my hand at the woman surrounding her with swords. "My magic is too fast for you to stop and too dense for your gel magic. I'll kill you both with this spell." I close my fist and the swords fly at them. After the light goes away Baro was still standing but barely. Gauche and Asta managed to beat both the woman and Baro. Asta went to talk to the one who used snow magic but he had a light sword in his back. "So your here as well." I see Patry appear in front of me." Max!!!" I look to see Patry had attacked my friends and Asta was running to me but I noticed the Spatial magic user appear from his portal. "Sally look at how much they hurt you." Patry let Sally fall into a portal. Then he attacked Asta and the others. Soon Yami showed up then I was surrounded by spatial magic. "Master Licht wants you to come with us boy." I shrug hearing the Spatial magic user. "What are you doing Max!?" I smile at Asta. "I'll be back later Asta." I'm dropped off next to Sally. "Light Healing Magic: Heaven's embrace." A womanly body appeared under Sally and hugged her. "T this mana is so different from earlier." I remain silent while I heal her. "I'm returning to them Sally. Take it easy while my magic heals you." She looks at me while I return to Patry. "Max what are you doing over there?" I look at Asta then Patry. "Not yet Max. We'll finish what we started later." I nod then dodges his attacks before retaliating with my own. "Incredible Max can keep up with Licht?" I ignore Asta keeping up my attacks. I jump to Yami. "I'll support you." Yami nods and charges at Patry. "How are you so strong?" I look at Asta. "I'm not a noble I'm just blessed by mana." Yami managed to cut Patry after an intense fight which impressed me. Yami orders Asta to do what he just did. I watch Patry heal himself. "He can heal himself too?" I nod. "I can do the same it's rare but he's like me in that sense." Asta and Yami start talking while Patry attack them. "Max what are you doing?" I look at Yami but I don't get the chance to reply cause Valtos tries nabbing Asta but Yami stops him telling Asta to focus on Valtos' Ki. After a couple tries he sends his attack back at him which causes Patry to go nuts. He brought the roof down but I used my Phalanx spell to keep myself safe. I watch Yami and Asta break through the rubble. "You guys are stubborn." The two look at me and I giggle. "Max why didn't you shield us!?" I shrug causing Asta to complain. "Seems you have the same abilities as me and the reflexes to keep up. I knew you were a threat when you chased me after I hurt your friend." I heard Patry speak to me. "I do but unlike you I have the curse of having two attributes." I watch Yami and Patry resume their fight while I begin concentrating mana into a single point on my hand. "Asta can you handle Valtos?" Asta looks at me and I point to Valtos. He nods and rushed Valtos. I watch my hand begin to shake as my mana concentrated itself in to it. "Kid what are you doing?" I grin at Yami. "Demon Light Magic: Void spear." I feel my mana blasts itself  from my hand shooting towards Patry who immediately recognised my spell. I cover my eyes then when the light ends I see Patry barely protected behind a spell like my Phlanax. "What the hell!?!" I look at Asta then my badly injured hand. I see a hole in my palm that I can see the muscle and bone in. "Yami I can't do that spell again it only works in my dominant hand and if I use it again I'll lose my hand." He nods and I hear Patry laugh. "To think a human was blessed by mana!" Patry user a spell I'm familiar with. But surprisingly Gauche appeared and reflected the powerful spell back at Patry. I nearly ran to my friend but I held my ground. "Light Healing magic: Rebirth Self palm." I watch my hand start patching itself up. "That's some insane healing magic." I smile at the orange haired guy that showed up with Gauche. "I'm guessing your Finral?" He nods so I walk over to Yami and Asta. But I stop when I feel something. I look over to Patry to see my other friends. "So I was right that kid with mana as strong as Licht's is here as well." I stop myself from pointing out Licht and I have equal magic because I let him seal my full magic away. I knew he is referring to Patry anyway. "These are the ones who stopped me from pursuing Licht after he attacked Fuegoleon." I flex my fingers smirking at them. "So you have Salamander huh? Good I don't want this to get boring. Yami I'm done holding back." Yami nods and we both use magic to protect the others. "You both are wasting time they are stronger then a Magic Knight Captain." I chuckle softly watching all three attack us. "Yami tell Julius I won't make it to lunch tomorrow." He looks at me and I push him into my Phalanx. "Mana Zone." Everyone gasped when the cave was rocked by the explosion of my mana.
