Chapter 3

"You believe because your blessed by mana you can do what you want? Or that one of you has spirit magic?" I raised my hand as both Light and Demon Light Swords appeared followed up by small orbs of each magic. "Mana Zone: Demon Light Equinox." I clench my fist close watching as the spell attacked them. I wave bye to Yami and the others all of them watching me in horror. I use the light to cover myself and I grab Patry and the others using my magic to teleport us away. When we arrive safely I fall on my butt panting harshly. Patry immediately dropped to my side. "Maxwell!?" I smile at him. "Leave it to our crazy little demon elf to think of a way out of that situation." I smile again hearing Raia. "I'm sorry I hurt you Patry. I tried to keep it to a minimum." I raise my hand readying myself to heal the injuries my last attack caused but Fana beat me to it. She wrapped both of us in her magic. "Its a good thing I got you all out of there more captains showed up. I didn't wanna risk you guys getting hurt more." I reach up and pets Salamander. "That's right you have the ability to see the spirits." I nod thinking back to what Licht said. "It's cause I have the two magic attributes that are the same but at the same time aren't." Salamander nods and I stretch before looking at my hand. "To think you did the Void Spear with that seal still active." I look at my gut. "I've felt it weakening ever since I woke up. I've managed to use more of my full power everyday. It's why I need my other two stones so I can reseal it so I can keep my promise." Patry and the others nod. "So when do you plan on going back?" I look at Patry. "They will be looking for you since you know as much as Julius." I nod then smiles sheepishly. "To be honest I wasn't even thinking of going back. I'm happy with being here." Patry smiles and I sigh. "I guess I'll go back in a few days." I am helped up and I look at my necklace. "I wish I had my stones." I sigh softly again then follows them inside. I stayed with them learning alot of what I forgot. The day came where I had to return home. "I need you guys to attack me. The elves and humans looked at me like I'm crazy. "I can't return without looking like you all kept me prisoner and tortured me." They nod sadly and did as I said. Soon I was dropped off near the Clover Kingdom. "Thanks Raia." He nods so I limp to the nearest village. I notice the giant demon skull and a church so I let myself collapse in front of it. I let myself lose consciousness when I sense someone coming to the door. When I open my eyes I'm in the capitol judging by the mana I'm sensing. "Ah Lord Max your awake I'll go get Lord Julius." I look at one of the healers before sitting up slowly. "Max you need to lay back down." I shake my head. "Julius needs to know what I've discovered." The doctors sigh and one of them helps me to him. I arrive to see tbe captains sitting at a table together. "Max! Your finally awake." I raise my hand in greeting. "You didn't think I'd die so soon did you? Nah Yami I have goals I plan on seeing through." Julius explained what's going on before hand. I look around before yawning. "I am sorry I haven't full recovered." Yami nudges me while cleaning his katana. "How did you burn a hole thirty miles long with that spell?" I blink. "Oh that's what happens when I use that spell." I look at the white haired captain. "You better not do an impression of me." He froze and Yami pats him on the head laughing. "He's hilarious he's already done one of Fuegoleon and Nozel." I stare at him. Marx shows up telling us to go to the secret prison. I follow the captain's and I see Asta standing next to Julius and Marx. I see in the background the two members of Patry's group. Julius reveals what he learned then tells the captain's he discovered a traitor in their ranks. I step up behind them preparing to trap the traitor. It's revealed to be the Captain of the Purple Orcas. He turns to see me with a ball of light in my hand. "Captain how bout you let Marx prove your innocent?" The man gulped knowing his magic isn't fast enough to save him from mine. He created some soldiers before turning invisible. I grab Asta who looks at me. "Let's go." He gasped when we teleport and end up outside. "He's in front of us Asta get him." I watch Asta turn the traitor visible then Rill showed up and captured him. I start to lean but I'm caught by Vangeance. I look into his eyes and I smile. "Thank you Captain." After Marx reads the traitors mind I limp upstairs only to be stopped by Julius. "You can't be thinking of going back out there can you?" I nod. "The only reason I was beaten was because I had to keep myself in check to protect Yami and the others. I need to avenge Fuegoleon." I step past him and he grabs my arm. "I can sense the seal on you weakening. Do you know what'll happen if it fades away?" I shake my head knowing I do. "Well then your staying here. I can't have you risking your life and the kingdom's safety for a vendetta." I look at Julius then sighs. "Fine your lucky your you Julius." I head to my room and looks at my necklace noting I need two more. I fall asleep soon after. The next day I am summoned by Julius. I see Yami and Asta waiting for me alongside Julius. "I want you to go with these two and help locate the magic stone." I perk up. "They'll explain on the way." I follow Yami and Asta. "I know why your sending me along Julius. Don't think I'll abide by your orders for long." Asta looked at me surprised. "So we're going to an under water temple? Neat it's been a long time since I've been to a beach." I wave bye then goes to a swimsuit store. I buy mine rather quickly then I explore around town. Soon it got dark and I heard a scream so I run back to the swimsuit store. I'm met with the golden dawn and we slam the door open to see Noelle covered up. Klaus passed out from blood loss and I look at the ground. "Awe how cute Max is too shy to look at Noelle." I pout hearing Vanessa. I run outside and heads back to my room in the castle. Soon it was morning so I meet up with the Black Bulls. I look at everyone's brooms. "So where's your broom Max?" I look at Asta before floating. "I can use my magic I don't need one." Asta looked amazed and after that we took off towards the temple. Later that day we arrived and I touched down. As soon as my feet came into contact with the beach I felt one of my stones. I concentrated on it and it felt like it's calling to me from under water. "So it's where the other stone is." I sigh before I look around. "Demon Light Creation Magic: Shadow Mobile Steed." I watch my shadow extend then a shadowy horse emerged from it. I concentrate my mana into a thin but sturdy mana skin. I then cover my mouth creating a bubble of air. "What are you doing Max?" I look at Yami. "One of my stones is down there and I can't wait with the Midnight Sun stalking the place." I hop on my horse before we dive into the water. Halfway down I feel the immense mana. I grit my teeth then forces my mana out around me and my horse. After fighting the current and mana for about ten minutes I enter the temple. I pat my horse who returns to my shadow. I concentrate on my stone following a path to it. I stop suddenly and opens my eyes. I look at the ground then I slam a Light Sword into it watching the trap go off and I contain it with my Phalanx. I send my swords out then dodges each trap. I end up where my stone is and I pick it up placing it in the socket. I sigh softly feeling happy because I'm close to having all of three of my stones. I sense my friends close by so I go to meet them. I wave to them then we begin our search for the stone. I yawn quietly then I look at Asta and the others. I chuckle before I look at necklace. "I have to go." Before the others could protest I was gone. I landed on a beach far away from any one and I collapse feeling the swell of my power. I groan feeling the last chain on my power break and I hear a chuckle. "I told you that elf can't keep us away. You are me and I you." I slowly stand seeing the one who gives my Demon Light magic. He looked like me except for the horns and red eyes. "Soon you will use devil magic and we will be one." I stare at him. "I won't harm my friends with our magic." The devil chuckles. "Soon you will have to. Your light magic won't be enough to save Asta or Julius." I glare at him before returning to my friends. I felt intense mana which made me smile. "My my I didn't think you'd show up." I look at Vetto. He grins at me and I create swords of light around me. I see my friends looking at me and I wave. "Your the one who master Licht wants because of those stones." I lose my relaxed posture. "What's so important about Max's stones!?" I hear Asta ask and I look at Vetto wanting to hear his lie. "They contain two extremely powerful seal magics. We found the third one a long time ago." I can see in his eyes he's lying. "Sorry my father entrusted these to me. Besides I have to pay you back for our last meeting." I grin at him buy inside I was sad I hate fighting my friends. "Max even Captain Yami had trouble with him." I look at Asta and I watch as everyone who could sense mana as I unleash my mana. "W what is this really Max?" I grin before looking at Vetto. "So you ready Vetto?" I see him nod and we vanish from the naked eye. We only appeared when we clashed which sent a shock wave through out the cave. I heard my friends talk about my full potential. They have no idea. I'm holding back so Vetto isn't hurt. I heard that devil in me laugh and that a when I got nailed by Vetto. I saw in his eyes he was surprised. I slam into a wall and I cough up blood. I felt my magic change to the devil magic but I fought to maintain it at demon light. "Just give in and kill him he's going to hurt your frienss." I stand up and I lift my head to look at Vetto. "Demon Light: Shards of Azareth." Spikes of black light flew at him from all directions and I raise my hand feeling mana pour into it. "No Max you can't! That spell with that much mana behind it will hurt those outside the Temple!" I hear Vanessa and I know she's right but my Devil has control. "Kid hit Max. He isn't in control!" I hear Yami and I brace myself before feeling Asta slam his sword into me. I feel my Devil lose control and I drop. I watch Asta begin his fight with Vetto and a man who lives here at the Temple. I try to stand abd help but Asta's anti magic is still affecting me. "If you use your true magic you'd recover. Give in Asta needs you." I clench my fists watching Vetto beat Asta and that man easily. I was about to give in when I see someone's magic hit Vetto. I look to see Noelle and a girl from the Temple. I smile before sitting down.
