*Based loosely on the song "Sandman" by Metallica
Hush little baby don't say a word,
Disregard the voices you heard,
Make them welcome, a part of you,
As long as you live, so they will too
We all have our pardons from normality,
Things that make us question reality,
Stare into the white walls,
Do you feel people stare back? Criticizing your downfalls?
The voices in your head scream, making your skin crawl,
You struggle in the straight jacket but are restrained like a puppet doll
Hush little baby don't say a word,
To try and fill that void in your heart would be absurd
Let the whispers seep through it and be true,
Allow them to speak their desires to you
Walk down the hall, descend from the stairs,
You will see that your illusions find you there,
The whispers will grow louder until,
The man in white forces silence with a pill
It will be then, alone, when you miss the itching in your ear,
The wall meets your empty stare with a leer
Hush little baby don't say a word,
Disregard the screaming you heard.
