Just another day in Sodor.

Transporting goods, navigating the railways, chatting with trains, hoping this day won't be your last.

That's right, life was precious here, but it didn't last.

Mess up three times you'll never see the light again.

Yeah that's the hard truth, Thomas knew it too well.

He's lived here his whole life, he's only still here because he has a stable relationship with Sr. Topham Hatt.

Currently he was being forced to watch a violent murder of another train.

"Alright let's begin," a worker fired up his blowtorch. The train sat still and accepted his fate.

The blowtorch touched his frame and you could see the immediate pain in his face.

It was a swift job, remove the useful parts of the train, if it was still alive just toss it in the junkyard and let it die there.

He died 5 minutes in.

Once the job was done Thomas was allowed to leave, he was forced to carry the dead husk of the train to the ocean first though.

"Good, now get back to work." Sir Topham Hatt dismissed him.

Thomas decided to go on the one break he was allowed all day, most trains were given a 5 minute break every 24 hours. Because of Thomas' relationship with the boss he got 10 minutes. He often went on his break after he did a lot of work. He decided to go on it now because he needed time to think after witnessing the death of one of his best friends.

"Thomas?"

Percy just so happened to be taking his break too.

"What is it Percy? Are you alright?" Thomas asked, trying not to sound upset.

"I'm fine, I heard about.. him..." Percy said. Thomas sighed.

"Well, it was his time.. I suppose.." he tried to ignore it. "We'll all be gone someday, either we die here or some miracle from heaven comes and Sodor gets shut down."

"Let's hope it's that second option." Percy wheeled up beside him.

"I don't see a bright future for us Percy.." Thomas admitted. He looked at Percy, still trying to hide the pain he felt.

"Well, we survived another week, did we not?" Percy smiled. He often tried to brighten Thomas' day.

"I heard another train talking, he said that for every week we survive, the more horrible our death will be." Thomas sighed. Percy rolled his eyes.

"Thomas! I've had enough! You gotta keep your chin up! Don't flood your mind with the thoughts of your future! think about the now! Think about Sodor! Surviving! Doing what you can to stay alive!" Percy suddenly snapped. "You're my best friend Thomas.. We have to stick together and help each other through this...."

Thomas was shocked. Percy had never snapped at him before.

"That was weird." Thomas smirked.

"W-what?"

"You've never yelled at me. I like this new energy you've got." Thomas looked over at Percy with a smug face.

Just a reminder this story includes ThomasxPercy because i'm a piece of shit

Percy turned red.

"Ah, s-sorry.. I was just mad that you were being so negative..." he admitted.

"No, no, don't apologize. You snapping like that could save your life one day." Thomas gave him a sincere smile. Percy smiled back. He glanced at the clock tower and gasped.

"Sorry Thomas my break's over! Gotta go!" Percy sped off. Thomas sighed.

"How can he be so optimistic? This life is terrible.. He's gonna get himself killed with an attitude like that.."
