"I hate English! The homework doesn't even teach you anything!" I complained angrily to Michael as we walked out of the school.
"Well, then your just gonna have to bear with it." He replied.
"Oh come on! You're supposed to be on my side!" I said crossing my arms.
"Oh really now? Since when?" He asked with a smirk.
"Since we became buddies! Duh!" I said rolling my eyes.
"Oh! Hah, right...buddy's." He said quietly with a slightly sad look.
"Hey, are you okay? You got quieter all of a sudden." I asked worriedly.
"Huh? Oh! Yeah yeah, I'm fine. I just...got something on my mind." He replied looking away.
"Well if you ever need someone to talk to, remember, I'm right here," I said smiling.
"Hehe. Yeah. You'll always be there, even if I tell you to go away." He said smiling back.
"Now that is the Michael I know!" I said pointing at him.
"Yeah, whatever!" He said jokingly.
"Alright then." I stopped in front of him and then held out my hand. "Then this is where we part ways."
"Why do you always say it like we're in one of your action movies?" He asked.
"Cuss it's cool like that!" I said.
"Hahaha! Okay okay." He said before taking my hand. "Till we meet again."
After that, we split up on our ways. Unlike me, Michael lives in New York. Sometimes I feel tempted to ask my mom if we can move here too, just so we wouldn't have to be so far away. But like always, I just end up forgetting to ask and then remembering about it the next day.
"Maybe today is the day I ask," I said to myself hopefully.
On the rest of my way to the abandoned factory, I saw a shady man in black clothes. I shook off the feeling and continued to walk towards the factory, but the more I walked away, the more nervous I became. I decided that after I dropped off my backpack at home, I would change into my hero costume and come to see if the man was dangerous.
And just like that, the single thought of violence, made me run towards the abandoned factory. I took almost no time at all opening a portal and jumping through it to land in my room and throwing my backpack onto my bed and opened my closet to change into my hero costume.
