If you look at it, a human's life is like a flower's. The flower blooms healthy, grown with many other flowers of its kind. But, then, fingers come to it snapping the stem and ending the flower's once prosperous life.

But then you ask, whose fingers are those? Who was the identity of the individual who carelessly took the life and being of the flower?

The identity of those individuals is the human-eating demons that roam around in this tainted world.

And the flowers?

The humans who are left victim to the cruel deaths by those careless fingers.

But some of these flowers have thorns and poisons, one prick of these can lead to the downfall of those who pick them.

These blossoms are the demon slayers. Those strong and determined mortals who fight against the demons who devour human flesh, even if their own life is taken.

This is the life we live in.

This is the war we battle.

This is the struggle, the struggle for life.

"Again! You need to try harder!"

Those words pounded in my head as I tried to swing the katana at the large oak tree that rose above me. My muscles throbbed and I had a dreadful headache, but I can't stop... if I do I'll have to do this again. Sweat dripped from my forehead as I tried to presume, I can't give up now.

I lifted my arms, though they felt as though they could fall off by now, and swung downwards with full force.

"Again! If you can't cut down this tree.. you won't be able to move on."

I brought the katana up, then down once again. My body wants to stop, it wants to quit, I know my being couldn't take it any longer... but again I wielded down once more. I need to proceed, I need to move onward, I need to fight. As suddenly as I brought my katana back up, I took a deep breath and collected on my breathing technique.

The words of the technique swirled in my mind clearly, "Total Concentration. Animal Breathing."

Then, a surge of energy shot through me and into my katana. I pointed it towards the tree that lay before me, It was as if my body had been rejuvenated; all the energy I dissipated came back to me tenfold.

"First Form, Moon Hare."

Taking a step forward lunged me towards the log in the blink of an eye, and all I saw when I looked back was a tree stump.

My master nodded in approval, and he approached me with a kind smile on his face, "Great job, Soobin... You've done well."

Then everything fell into the darkness.
