The situation was quiet. Too quiet, even for the size of the campus canteen, this was extremely quiet even though there are no exams in the faculty. Byungchan glanced at each corner but he only found one or two people in 4 corners of the cafeteria who were enjoying his lunch. He smelled faintly of blood but was not as amazing and tempting as ever. Maybe it's the effect a few days ago, Wooseok who fed him and burned all the rest of their deeds. No one was supposed to know what they did. It was already the umpteenth day, he enjoyed fresh blood like in his father's residence.
Back, here and there, he looked for a bright spot. He glanced at his watch and chuckled. With unsteady steps, he took care of the equipment. Stepping away from the quiet canteen, out of the campus yard, he went to a cafe in the middle of the city. He should smell more blood here and exercise his body control.
Soon after he arrived at the cafe, he found a familiar person who made his eyes brightly shone. And to his delight, he walked approaching the person and surprised him.
"Han Seungwoo," he called. The voice that implied the longing called out to him. Seungwoo can't believe this. As if in a dream, Byungchan arrived in broad daylight, with dimples painted clearly on the curve of his face, even the lines of his eyes were the same as before. Yes, the word 'before' used to be a nostalgia for Seungwoo about Byungchan.
The prince smiled at him, making his eyes curled into a crescent-moon shaped also. He reached for Byungchan, taking the empty chair to be filled with his presence, and trying to hold his hand. The man looked more beautiful in his eyes. Even the dimples invited him to be petted. He missed his Byungchan.
"How are you and Seungsik hyung?"
He never expected the first thing to open the conversation between them. Byungchan sat across him and propped his hand, Seungwoo looked at him closer. As if nothing had ever happened, his eyes utterly wanted him to answer his question.
"We are fine," he retorted simply.
Byungchan nodded. His eyes roamed somewhere else, searching for nothing likely looking away from Seungwoo since his stare got more intense than a minute ago.
"Live here now?"
"...um, kinda. Why?"
Seungwoo crossed his arms, "I've been missing you. It's such a long time to not see you."
"I'm not going anywhere, so--why?"
He pondered for a moment, gambling in the middle of option asking or not out of his curiosity. However, the look Byungchan gave, talked otherwise. He shall worry nothing.
"Did you run away from me?"
The young vampire shook his head. "Nope," he said, adjusting his bag, slung the robe and smiling afterward.
"Somebody just told me a plan where to go, how to live, what kind of activities that I could have from there--so yeah it's tempting. I don't run away."
Seungwoo searched for something in his eyes, however, he just found excitement from his honesty. Perhaps he just hasn't crossed paths with him until today the universe got him to meet Byungchan after a thousand moons.
"Byungchan," he called, softly.
He hummed.
"Are you okay to meet me?"
Byungchan tried to smile. He was not awkward and aiming everything to positive chat. Run away? Deny? No, he did not do that. He felt that he was mature enough now. Discussing it now could be useless, everything that was in their past or the wound that was engraved on Byungchan's body, was not worth discussing anymore. Because it might never be fixed. Even the word 'sorry' would not be enough to overcome all the pain he experienced.
