Distant Longing

It has been three weeks since Jihoon had woken up from his coma. He was finally discharged from the hospital this morning. A whole week passed and Soonyoung had not said a word to Seokmin. He even tried to avoid spending anytime alone with the younger, making sure to leave when no one else was there but them. That, however, was driving Seokmin crazy. 

Soonyoung was in a terrible condition the past week, but recently, it became a lot worse. He had not been eating regularly, he does eat with the group but his serving became lesser and lesser each time. He had not been getting enough sleep as well. For the past week, Soonyoung had been sleeping with Chan (still part of his avoiding-my-best-friend-because-I-don't-want-to-talk-about-my-problem act), well it was more like tossing and turning around the bed at the ungodly hours of the night. And all those made Seokmin restless.

Soonyoung had been a dear friend to Seokmin since the start of his trainee days. He had considered the older as his best friend a long time ago, and nothing will ever change that. He loves Soonyoung, there's no need to question that fact. He is his best friend and it is normal to love him more than the other members.

Soonyoung had always been by Seokmin's side through thick and thin. He was by his side when he was still 'confused' and he was even there when Seokmin decided to come out to his parents and to the rest of the members. It was easier than he had imagined, and maybe it had been easy because he knows Soonyoung is just by his side and if ever the world decided to turn its back on him his best friend would not, he will always be there for him. It pains to Seokmin so much because it seems like Soonyoung does not want him by his side when he's the one who is in need of support.

Seokmin sighed deeply. The whole situation is seriously getting on his nerves.

"I can help you, you know," Seungkwan said. Seokmin who was in deep thought failed to realise that the '98 liners had sat behind him.

"God! Don't scare me like that Boo!" Seokmin said, his eyes opened comically wide.

"It's not my fault that you're spacing out, again," Seungkwan said with a laugh. "But hey Seokmin hyung, I really want to help you and Soonyoung hyung. Really, everything is not the same when there's tension between the two."

"It's not like that Boo, we're not mad at each other or anything," Seokmin sighed once again, "And it's okay, I'll figure everything out. Thank you anyway and I'm sorry for worrying you."

"We just hope you'll get back to your old selves soon," Hansol said with a soft smile.

"I hope so too," Seokmin said with a smile, but it's not as bright as usual.

All of the members are just lazily lounging in their dorm when Seungcheol and Jihoon came back from their regular trip to the hospital.

"EVERYONE GATHER AROUND!" Seungcheol ordered once he reached the living room. Hearing their leader's voice, everyone immediately went to the living room. 

"I just received a call from the CEO, he wants to meet us at a dinner meeting in 3 hours," Seungcheol said once everyone is seated, "He said there will be an important announcement. We don't have plenty of time, so let's all get ready. Okay? Get on your feet and prepare now," Everyone rose to their feet and did as what their leader told them.

They are all by the door waiting for Chan and Soonyoung who were still getting ready. When the two got out of their room, Seokmin noticed that Soonyoung is wearing the coat he had given him on Christmas 2 years ago. He gave the other a soft smile, that Soonyoung actually returned before he walked ahead of him.

The dinner went quietly. The members feel so anxious because it's actually very rare for them to meet the CEO in a dinner meeting with the other company officials present. A few conversations were exchanged throughout the whole dinner. It was when everyone had finished their desserts that the CEO spoke.

"So first of all," the CEO started and everyone turned their attention to him, " Welcome back Woozi, I'm glad you're fine now."

"Thank you Sir, I'm sorry for causing trouble," Jihoon bowed deeply to show that he was really sorry.

"It's okay, things like this can really happen at times," the CEO said with a small smile.

"Technically, Seventeen had been in a 1-month break already," the CEO continued after waiting for Jihoon to sit back down," but you were still diligently practising this whole time and you have done a very good job during your last promotions too. You boys have been working extremely hard so I'm giving you another month of break."

Loud cheers erupted from their dining table, the two main vocals being the loudest. The CEO and the staff members each have soft smiles on their faces, feeling warm at the group's joyous screams and happy faces.

"You are all allowed to go back to your respective homes. The expenses of your trips to and fro will be handled by the company," the CEO said when the boys had calm down a little, "I hope you make the best  out of this break given to you."

"Of course Sir! THANK YOU VERY MUCH!" the boys stood up from their seats and shouted their gratitude, bowing at the same time.

i feel like writing another book but i have no ideas so please leave suggestions:) it can be any other kpop group, not just seventeen.
