( Part 1 out of 2 )
Yaz was fast asleep as her brother held her small body close to his chest, the soft sounds of groans echoing through the tall fields as night fell, Rain was walking through a somewhat clear path, to where he wandered over to when leaving the hell-like burning city he barely made it out alive from. He looked around, his eyes dead until they suddenly lit up, seeking a tall house he soon raised an eyebrow at. He never saw anything like this before, He knew the state he lived in pretty well but never seen this house before, nor really recognized it from the many drives around he used to do before he got ill.
It was around two stories high, with the green paint peeling off slowly as if it was showing off the age of being abandoned for many years, the damage it took during that time. The many parts of the house looked as if it was slowly falling apart, some parts of the windows cracked while pieces of wood laid around the property, An empty and abandoned dog house could be seen next to the stairs, which lead to the front door. The dog house had a loose chain and collar on the ground, small bits of blood was staining the chains.
Rain tensed up, about to back away from how much this could be a bad idea until he heard a soft whine from his chest, a small tug from his hood. He glanced down to Yaz, who was asleep but nuzzled her face to his chest, whining softly as if she wasn't having too much of a pleasant dream. It caused him to sigh in defeat as he stroked her small head, beginning to head over to the house from the middle of tall fields.
He had no other choice, even when he felt heavily tense every step he took to approach. It wasn't crazy far from the city to call it a farmhouse but was far enough to not have much civilization around. He soon walked up the stairs while holding Yaz close, approaching the white door, seeing some paint slowly peel from it as well. He grew wearier but knocked onto the door.
" Hey. . ! Hello?? I need help, please. I have a little girl here and We don't have anywhere to go, please let us in. . !" He called out, waiting for a bit as he soon sighed. "It was worth the shot." He muttered to himself before he turned the knob and slowly pushed the door open, holding his sleeping little sister closer to his chest to make sure she didn't see what could lie ahead of them.
When entering, The inside surprised Rain as he hesitantly closed the front door behind him. The furniture actually was intact, as if nothing was torn, beaten up or aged by any bit. The coffee table in the middle of the living room has a cute teacup setup, the table between the two couches that sat across each other, One couch smaller than the other. One had enough room for two people, the other had enough for three people.
