As Kara’s powers returned the months rolled by quickly.  She and Barry spent New Year’s with family at Joe’s house and then their first Valentine’s Day together since he had been pulled into the Speed Force before they got the chance the previous year.  Alura had discovered that the black dust was indeed a remnant from Krypton and set out to learn if there was any more of it on Earth while also working with Alex to create a formula that could combat the effects it had on Kryptonians.  The threat of the Worldkillers was still unsubstantiated even though Clark had informed Barry and Kara everything he had learned from Zod while disseminating with claims that it all came from the Book of Rao.

In the weeks preceding their moving day, Barry and Kara had packed up their belongings at both his and her apartment and moved them to Joe’s house where they were temporarily staying.  Kara was at Cat Co. working on a story when Cat called her into her office.  Kara knew something was up with her boss as when she stepped in; Cat was tapping her pen on her desk while staring blankly at her computer screen.

“You wanted to see me, Ms. Grant?”

Kara’s words snapped Cat out  of her focus, and although she was slightly startled she quickly regained her composure.

“Yes…Kara; sit down.  I have something I’ve been meaning to discuss with you.”

Kara was instantly worried at the tone in her boss’ voice.  She had never heard Cat Grant sound this nervous or shaken before.  Something told her that whatever Cat was going to say, had ramifications that affected Cat Co., but Kara as well.

“Ms. Grant…are you okay?”

“I’m fine Kara.  Do you remember what I told you the day I asked you what you wanted to do with your life?  Where you wanted to go with Cat Co.?”

“Yes Ms. Grant, you told me to dive in.  You showed me my application and the word reporter written on it.  You said you knew then that this was what I was meant to do.”

“I knew you were listening.  Good.  Well I’ve decided to take my own advice.”

“I’m not sure I understand.”

“You will in a moment.  But first, I know you’re moving to Central City to be with your husband and I wanted to give you a choice.  Despite the two hour driving distance between Central and National, I know you still want to report for Cat Co.”

“I do.”

“With that in mind, you can retain your job here and e-mail your articles in from home or…”

“Or?”

“I’ve purchased Central City Picture News.  It…”

Concern ran through Kara’s mind at Cat’s announcement and she worried for all the people who worked for C.C.P.N., including Iris.  She knew Cat wouldn’t shut the paper down, but there was the possibility that she’d hire a new staff.  Cat immediately caught on to Kara’s feelings and spoke to assuage them.

“No one is going to get fired; Kara.  And C.C.P.N. or the Citizen as I’m thinking of renaming it is still going to operate as it always has, but with the backing of Cat Co.  Your other option is to join the staff there.”

“In what capacity?”

“As a reporter, assistant to the Editor in Chief, the P.R. Director.  Whichever you wish.  He and I have already discussed bringing you on to the staff.  And your articles will be published in Central’s paper and Cat Co. Magazine.”
