~Tessa~

Tessa left the conference room fuming. Dainin was already proving to be like all the other weak Alphas and Betas who have tried to tame her over the years. He wanted a submissive Luna. Someone who'd sit around all day quietly raising pups and be ready to please him when ordered, but that would never be her.

"You'd think the Moon Goddess would have paired us with someone less shallow," Tessa sighed, stopping to watch the Warriors train outside from the large picture window. Deep down, she felt disappointed.

"Well, I don't think a 20-minute meeting is enough time to decide. We can only find out if we give him a chance," her wolf whispered.

"Since when have you gone soft? Are you ready to roll over for him already," Tessa snapped. Her wolf whimpered in response to her hostile tone. "I'm sorry. It's not your fault," Tessa apologized with a frustrated sigh. She knew her wolf was only trying to help.

Groaning in defeat, Tessa turned away from the window to press her back against the wall. She never anticipated these feelings would be this intense and conflicting. Her wolf and the bond were pushing her toward Dainin while her pride pulled her away. She always imagined rejecting her mate would be easy, but instead, she's hesitating.

"I can't worry about this now," she muttered, suppressing her emotions to focus on more important things. "We need a distraction," she decided, pushing herself off the wall and making a beeline for the front door, knowing exactly where to go.

Her wolf purred as Tessa soaked in the warm rays of the sun, she loved being outside. It made her feel limitless. She could instantly feel her body and mind relax when she inhaled the fresh air. Her eyes scanned the field looking over her warriors and she noticed Zander had increased the intensity of their training.

"Zander, switch up their fighting styles from standing to groundwork. Human vs Wolf. They need to be prepared for anything," she mind-linked him and watched Zander nod in understanding as he ordered half the warriors to shift.

Then she noticed Cadence was sprinting with the Elite Squad. He seemed to be distracted by Cadence running in front of him. "Should Zander be worried that you have an admirer," she teased Cadence, watching her Beta's eyes widen as she looked behind her.

"Eyes up Beta! Now get to the front," she yelled as Alan straightened at the shock of being caught. He quickly made his way to the front of the formation while everyone around him began to laugh.

Tessa couldn't help but smirk when she noticed White Sand's warriors were struggling a bit to keep up. "That will have to change if they decide to stay here," her wolf stated. She and Tessa could tell they were not used to this intense training style.

"What have they been doing," she wondered, making her way around the rest of the pack. She weaved herself in and out of her warriors, inspiring them with praise and pointing out their moves that needed work.

"Who knows, but it's nice to be working outside among the pack. I prefer this over being cooped up behind the desk," her wolf sighed.

From the corner of her eye, Tessa noticed a sparring session between two young pups and stopped to observe. A small group surrounded them, shouting words of encouragement, while a young teen group watched the seasoned warriors spar.

It's cute to see them mimicking their moves," Tessa chuckled, feeling proud of her pack's unity at such a young age. It took everyone working together to make it all successful. Nobody was left behind or shamed for falling behind the others. They functioned as a whole unit, one weak link meant the whole chain was weak.
