I sat beside a woman with her baskets on the floor
She kept eyeing me as if id steal something from her
"You know, not because I'm black I'll try to steal something from you I'm just trying to get where I'm going like everybody else" l said without looking at her
She seemed a bit shocked that I'd said that but quickly recovered
The train ride was long, it made a few stops here and there dropping off passengers at different drop sights
It was my turn to get off and I got up stretching my stiff bones
"I'm sorry I judged you" the lady said
l wasn't expecting an apology so l was caught off guard
"Oh its okay"
I got off and made my way into town to find a job I needed to get one as soon as possible if I intended to survive out here
I walked for hours but all the shops l had went to said they weren't hiring
It was almost night and l hadn't succeeded in finding a job, no one seemed to wanted to hire the black girl this was to be expected I guess
I'll try again tomorrow
I walked around trying to find somewhere to sleep for the night
It was getting late and l still haven't found anywhere
I hugged myself trying to find more warmth in this cold cold night
"Hey there"
I looked up three guys drew closer towards me
"You need someone to warm you up"
"We'll warm you up" one of them shouted
"N-no thank you" l stuttered
I was starting to panic
"Oh cmon little darling don't be scared we won't hurt yah"
"Yeah we won't" they laughed
I turned around and ran and they followed, l was really tired from walking around all day trying to find a job
"Hey, get back here!"
I ran behind some buildings and hid in a corner I listened to see if they were still following me
But I heard nothing l blew out a breath
"You thought you could get away from us" he jumped down off the building directly in front of me
"She's here" he shouted and the others appeared
"Please leave me alone"
"Shhh you don't wanna wake anyone up" he grabbed me by the hand and pulled me along with him
"Let's go somewhere more secluded"
"N-no, please" he slapped me
"I said shut the fuck up " he snarled
They dragged me into some bushes
"You're pretty for a dark skin girl"
"I'm gonna enjoy this, let me go first" the one who caught me said
"Please don't"
"I said shut your whore mouth, you wanted this walking around at night, you deserve what you're gonna get, I'm gonna give it to you real good" he laughed
I gave up pleading something like this was bound to happen.
I deserve this I just hope when they're done they kill me
"Look who stopped begging, don't worry darling you'll enjoy this"
He took off all his clothes and reached out pulling down my leggings
My heart rate picked up it, he pulled it to my ankles and got on top of me
As he was about to take my innocents
He was yanked back and thrown into a dumpster
Before me stood the most beautiful creature I'd ever seen in my life it looked like an angel, his white wings stood proudly his whole body seemed to glow light, his hair was as white as snow. he looked at me for a mere second before looking back at the guys who were gaping
"Leave" he voice was like music to my ears
The men ran like their life depended on it
He stalked closer and l shuffled back
Not knowing what to think of the man who stood before me
"w-what are you?" l shivered with fear, the cold night making it worse
"l am your guardian angel little one"
Guardian angel? I don't believe in such fairy tales
I have been in trouble so many time why did he come now?
"I'm sorry but l was given orders not to interfere in your life" he answered my questions as if he was reading my mind
"Why now" tears filled my eyes "why didn't you let them have there way with me and kill me when they were finished!?"
He came closer and knealed before
"I should have, but l couldn't just watch anymore"
I cried harder pulling my knees to my chest
"You should've let them kill me" l put my head on my knees
"They wouldn't have killed you"
I cried even harder at that
"Its okay little one, I am here now"
His arms rapped around me
I cried for what seemed like hours
I opened my eyes and looked up, his wings surrounded us like a cacoon
"I- thank you" l got up quickly
"There's no need to thank me, l should've interfered a long time ago"
I looked at him once more he was basically towering over me
"How are you real?"
"God made me"
"God is real?"
"Indeed" he said
"Earlier you said that you couldn't interfere, why?"
"Like many angels, l can't interfere or change anything that has to do with humans, we were giving strict orders not be seen however we can help in small ways"
"How?"
"My curious little one" he laughed
I could listen to his laugh all day
"I'll answer all your question tomorrow but first you must get some sleep"
I looked around "where"
"Come, give me your hand"
He held out his hand and l looked at it for a few seconds before giving in
"Okay" l put my hand in his
He smiled "go to sleep"
"Wher-
We were suddenly in a room
"How?" I stood there with my eyes wide open
"I manifested a room for you to sleep"
"I- wow!"
"Get some rest little one, you must be really tired"
"Okay" l climbed upon the bed that wasn't there before, my eyes still traveling around the room
He stood there just watching me
"Thank you"
He smiled once more
And l closed my eyes thinking this was all a dream
