A boy with black hair sat on the roof of a house. He leaned back on the roof and stared at the night sky. He stared at the sky with a smug grin on his face. A usual look for him. He was decently popular at school for his abilities as a mage. Not to mention his grades were pretty good. He was also pretty well known for getting into fights with just about everyone.
A head peaked out of the window that allowed roof access it was Karma's freind, Harry. They've been friends for a while. Karma lived with him because neither of them had parents. Just a house left to Harry after his parents passed away.
"Foods ready. You better come get it before I decide to eat it all." Harry said.
"Oh? You would do that to me? Your dear friend? Oh how could you let me starve?" Karma almost started laughing, not being able to keep up that ridiculous act.
"Let you starve? That's easy, all I have to is eat all the food." Harry smiled brightly then quickly disappeared.
Karma stayed silent for a moment, in shock, then threw himself through the open skylight into the house.
"Eat my food and I'll kill you!" He sprinted down the hall and leaped down the stairs.
He rushed to his spot at the table and quickly began eating. He enjoyed good food, and Harry was one hell of a cook. Karma learned how to cook as well, but can't do it as well as his friend. Oh well, he tried.
"Hey did you finish Ms. Fujimora's work? English was always my worst subject." This was true. Harry always struggled with the subject, he even hired a tutor once.
"Yeah, it was simple stuff, you just can't seem to possibly comprehend it. I wonder if you'll ever be literate." Karma poked fun at his friend.
"Hey I can read and write! I just get confused with the more complicated stuff." Harry rubbed the back of his head, embarrassed.
The two finished eating and sat down infront of the TV and turned it on.
"An eight year old boy has gone missing. He was last seen by his parents before school. This is the fourth case this month. Any information on any of these children will be appreciated."
Four pictures of the children showed up on screen along with their information. The news anchor continued on babbling about other things.
The children all went to a school near the highschool. This is dangerous for any potential abductors because many of the highschool students had abilities as mages.
"You look spooked Karma, you scared to be taken." Harry taunted.
"Me? Taken? Oh please I'm to strong for that. I'd likely kill them before they even get the chance." He replied, his smug grin returning to his face.
"I'm not sure what's worse. The fact that your probably right, or that you're so willing to kill someone."
Karma stood up and stretched. He looked out the window and yawned.
"It's getting late. I'm going to sleep. Good look with your homework."
Harry looked at him and panicked. He quickly stood up and rushed after Karma, towards the stairs.
"Wait! Can't I just take a look at your homework!" He yelled up at Karma who didn't even spare him a glance.
"Nope!" He laughed at his friends dismay and entered his room.
Harry's entire body drooped as he groaned and pulled his homework from his bag.
"Damn it." He said quietly. "Why does this need to be so difficult."
