Yasmin's pov

Ive been grounded for the past month. my mom doesn't even look at me. she doesn't even talk to me. only my dad does and that barley helps.

im in my room, doing so homework til i hear a knock on my door. the door opens and it reveals my mom.

"yasmin, can we talk?" she asked

"yea sure." I said

she sits next to me on my bed as she starts to talk again.

"why i haven't talked to you is because Yasmin, i dont want you to be like me. I did bad things in middle and throughout high school. i snuck out, went to parties, threw parties, and i even drank while i was a minor." she said

"so i just wanted to say sorry for ignoring you. i just wasn't ready to tell you the mistakes i made and i just don't want you to make the ones i did. i love you mija." she said

then she hugged me and softly kissed my forehead.

"But mom, how come you speak english to me when we have to speak korean to dad?" I asked

"Yasmin, you grew up in a household that only spoke english and spanish. Your father didnt. He only knows korean and barely any english. so you have to learn a lot more korean. I already do because i studied it in college. so it was easier to talk to him when i met him." She said

"mama you never told me so i'll study harder to learn korean faster." i said

"thats the spirit. now dinner is almost done." she said

then she left the room. little does she know, im gonna sneak out again but when her and dad are asleep.

i get called to dinner and we all eat til i have to go upstairs to get ready for "bed".

my dad comes in to kiss my forehead and says goodnight.

-1 hour of "sleeping"-

I don't hear anything so i get out of bed carefully and i grab the clothes i picked out before i went "bed"

i put it on then i grab my skateboard, phone, airpods, and some money.

i climb out of my window with my friends outside as i throw my stuff to me but i carried my skateboard. i close my upstairs window and jump on the grass from the roof.

they give me my stuff then we start skating to the skatepark.

-20 minutes later-

as we are talking, han-bin got a call and it was his parents.

we check the time.

2am

my parents would check if i was asleep in a hour.

"guys i gotta go. my parents are gonna check if im asleep in a hour." i said

then we left the skatepark.

we skate home then i climb on the roof. they hand me my things and we say our goodbyes. i climb back into my window and close it.

i put my phone to charge with my airpods next to them. i put my wallet on my desk and i put my skateboard inside my closet.

i put on some comfortable clothes and climb into bed.

falling asleep this time.

-next morning-

i put on my uniform and hear my mom telling me to hurry up so i wont be late.

i grab my backpack and rush out of the house as my dad is already in the car, ready to take me to school.

he drives me to school but he comes out of the car with me.

"wait dad, why aren't you leaving?" i asked

"i'm gonna walk you to your locker and 1st period to make sure you get there without getting detention." he said

he follows me into school and he waits til i get everything i need for 1st period out of my locker.

then after he walks me to 1st period, he softly kisses me on the forehead then tells me to have a good day at school.

then he leaves.

i walk into class and as im walking to my seat, i already feel eyes on me.

i walk to my seat which is next to youjin. we have advanced math together.

then the teacher starts the math lesson.

-lunchtime-

"guys we should leave the school to buy snacks." Bong-Cha said

"we'll get caught and get sent to detention again." haeju said

"fine. party popper." he smirked

"Yah! im not a party popper!" she yelled

"then lets go buy snacks." he said

"fine!" she said

and we all go buy snacks then come into school without getting caught.

after eating our snacks, we go to our 4th class of the day.

-afterschool-

we're all walking home as we are walking home, we feel like we're getting followed.

i look behind and i see aureila with angela.

"AMIGAS!" I screamed as i ran to them.

we do a group hug but when i look at my other friends, they give aurelia and angela disgusted mean looks.

"Yah! stop making those looks!" I said in korean

"Yah! You can't tell us what to do!" bong-cha said

"then no ice cream tomorrow!" i said

"NEVERMIND SORRY!" he said

"thats what i thought." i mumbled

"how long are you visiting?" i asked aurelia and angela

"only a week." angela said

"oh ok. i gotta get home. it was nice seeing." i said

then went to my other friends.

we got to my house and they went home.

i get home and see my parents, sitting down in the living room with serious looks.

"Yasmin, we need to talk to you." my dad said

"and we hope you don't hate us." my mom said

"what is it?" i asked

"its s secret that we have kept from you for awhile. i never let you meet your dad because i never told him about you after you were born." she said

"WAIT WHAT?!" I asked
