Chapter 1 - Finding Out

Monday, 13 February 2017.
Maya Hart was busy looking after the pregnancy test in front of her wondering what is going on.
She and her boyfriend haven't been together for that long but she does know that the next step isn't as scary as she thought it would be.
For the first time she has actually mixed feelings over what a test says.
Usually she feels overwhelmed and scared but now she is feeling overwhelmed/scared/happy/confused/excited.
She was going to be a mom at sixteen and she didn't even know how to take everything in.
She wasn't going to keep this a secret from Josh for too long though.
She wants to tell him immediately what she had found out even if it does mean his reaction will be bad.
But she knew that it wouldn't be as bad as she thought.
She quickly grabbed her handbag as she went to her car.

Through the drive to NYU Maya made all kind of plans for how her boyfriend would react unsure what really would happen.
She was in a brand new relationship unsure of what is really going on but pregnant.
She stops in front of the university and takes a deep breathe before she goes in.
Here it goes.
Her life is now going to change for the better.

Josh Matthews was busy hanging out with his roommate when they heard the door opening.
Josh smiles as he sees his girlfriend of the past three months while his roommate shook his head.

"Dude, didn't we talk about giving your girlfriend a key?" Sawyer asked.
"Funny. Hey, Gorgeous," Josh said giving Maya a kiss.
"What's up?" Josh asked.
"Nothing much. I just needed some time away from your brother," Maya said.
"You know you're always welcome here. Sit down then I'll make you some tea," Josh said as Maya layd her handbag down.

"Hello, Sawyer. How is Michelle doing?" Maya asked.
"Good and I have a date. See ya," Sawyer said as he left the apartment.

"Which is good. I have something to tell you," Maya said as she took the cup from Josh who sat down next to her.
"You okay? You seem teary," Josh said.
"Because I'm scared how you're gonna take the news," Maya said as she took a deep breathe.
"Maya, what's going on?" Josh asked.
"I'm pregnant," Maya said and Josh's eyes widened at those two words.

"What?" Josh said trying to remain calm as Maya was close to tears.
"I'm pregnant," Maya repeated.
"Okay, so I heard right. When did you find out?" Josh asked.
"Before I came here," Maya said and Josh bit his lip.

Unsure of how to act he just didn't say anything which made Maya just more scared of what will happen.
She spend a few seconds staring at Josh before she stood up walking around in the apartment.
