Chapter 10 - Second Trimester And Surprises

It was Wednesday, March 1st.
Maya woke up pretty late but she did look at her clock closely.
Seven-thirty.
It was kinda late but she didn't worry about it.
Not like she had school to get to.
Cory still hadn't talked to her since the whole pregnancy leak and she wasn't keen on going either.
She exhaled as she turned around finding her boyfriend's eyes on her smiling.

"How you feeling?" Josh asked as she smiled.
"I'm okay. Just a bit scared. Today is the thirteen week appointment. Also known as..."
"The second trimester. I know. But don't worry about that too much," Josh said giving Maya a kiss on her head.
"We'll be fine. Why don't you get dressed then I'll go and make some breakfast?" Josh asked and Maya nod.
"Okay," Josh said giving Maya a soft kiss before he headed out of the door.

She exhaled coming up as she silently sighed.
Today was the day.
Maybe it wasn't going to be as bad as she thinks.

"Okay, I'm seeing something we didn't pick up two weeks ago," the doctor said as Maya looked at Josh swallowing hard.
"What are you seeing, Doctor?" Maya asked.
"More than one heartbeat," she said and Josh's eyes widened.
"Twins? Wow, that is huge," Josh said.
"Looks like triplets," she said and Maya's eyes basically popped out of her head.

Triplets?
No, that couldn't be true.
Not even for them.
She looked over at the screen as she wasn't able to see much but it clearly did look like four heartbeats.
She exhaled as she closed her eyes.
