Chapter 10

(Rafe's P.O.V.)

Lovey and I sit outside waiting for the only three people I've ever really trusted outside my family. I know they will think highly of her, I mean she's everything my pack needs and I know once she's trained, she'll be a fierce Luna. She's already stronger than most girls her age.

Her scent has changed since she's been here. I can literally smell the power on her skin. She smells like a wolf but her scent has an oddness to it. She smells like an Alpha but its stronger, almost magical. She may actually be stronger than me.

I just hope I can find the balls to tell her what she really is before her birthday. We dont really have much time, less than a month. Sure, it probably would have been a good idea to tell her when I showed her my secret but I know she would have been pissed that I didnt say anything sooner. Then she'll want to know how and who killed her parents and I dont have the answers... yet.

I'm going to find them. Its become a personal goal of mine to find who did that to them and possibly do the same. Lovey didnt deserve to be in all of those foster homes. Even if it meant me never meeting her I wouldnt have wanted this. She deserved to be loved unconditionally by the people who made her.

I pull her closer to me. She lays her heard on my shoulder, inhales my scent, and sighs. I kiss the top of her head gently. Gia's blue Nissan pulls into the driveway. I grin and pull Lovey up. She's nervous and tugging at her ear. I grab her hand and kiss it. "Everything fine, you dont need to be nervous." I whisper.

She looks up at me with those big, chocolate, doe, eyes and I melt. I pull her up my body and kiss her longingly. She relaxes in my arms, her hands coming up and gripping my face. I growl low in my chest and hold her closer to me. "Get a room," Mitch's deep voice sounds off a few feet in front of us. Lovey jumps away from me, her cheeks turning a bright red.

"Leave them alone you big idiot," Gia says as she jumps in the air and smack her mate in the back of the head. Seth laughs like usual as he climbs out of the backseat of the car.

"Youre going to take that Mitch?" I roll my eyes as he closes the door. Doesnt he know what clothes are? I pull my shirt off and throw it at him.

"I'm the only shirtless one around here." I hear Lovey's breath hitch and her heart begins to pound. I look over to see her staring at my torso with hungry eyes. I smirk at her. My mate wants my body. Thank god I've gained more muscle since I met her. I'm going to need the extra strength to be able to protect her and the pack.

"So, Rafe, are you going to introduce us or are you going to stand there drooling over your mate?" Gia asks with her usual, "I'm the big, bad girl, in the group", tone. Honestly, she can be a bit scary. Her eyes do this weird, glow thing when she shifts.

"Guys... and Gia, this is my mate and your new Luna, Lovey." Gia bows honorably and the guys give her the "whats up?" nod. Lovey flushes but waves at them.

"Hi," She mutters, her voice high and pitchy. I pull her close to me wrapping my arm around her waist.
