Chapter Four: Grey Yamaha Key Board Part One

Days have passed since Vic’s accident happened and me and the gang are begging to polish our rusty hands with the guitar. Since it was school days we went to Vic’s house to rehearse. During school days many studios were open and mostly the entire studios are fully booked so there was no choice for us but to only rehearse and jam in Vic’s place. It was also a good thing though because Vic’s place is too far from our places but we also get to see Vic and check his condition.

So after classes we went to Vic’s place to rehearse, at first we were having some crumps in playing the guitar because we stopped playing not two weeks ago. Miku was also there giving me the thumbs-up and saying that we can do it. She was with Vic chatting about stuffs I guess, I hope so.

Days went by and Vic has finally showing signs of recovery and slowly beginning to play drums again. At first it was just a simple pedal and snare combo or what rather he would say, and after a few days more he was like a wild gorilla now smashing those snare at cymbals and saying “I miss this!” and continued to smash some more. We laughed a lot. Miku was never really absent with our rehearsals it was more like she was attentive to it, which always made my day.

One day during our rehearsal

“Hey Miku” I said and she quickly responded, actually she was looking at me in the first place. “Why don’t you sing for us in a while?”

“Who? Me?” She said while pointing herself. “Yep” I said and then strummed my guitar.

“Yeah Miku, you’ve been her out all the time and what you do here is always watch us.” Trance said.

“Yeah why don’t you sing for a chance. I haven’t heard your voice when you sing.” Markus said.

“Yeah. It will be cool.” Vic said followed by a few beats.

“So? What do you say?” I said and offered her my hand. “Uhm… Okay” she said and grabbed my hand, gave a warm smile and stood up.  And we played some slow music which Miku knew. We played Be You’re everything by Boys like Girls. And to our surprise Miku was a good singer, no she was great. She covered the whole song and we were moved.

After we finished the song we clapped at her. “I didn’t really know you were this good” I said and she hit me again “You never asked me to sing for you.” She said to me again looking at me straight with those blazing scarlet eyes.

Vic gave a rumbling beat and said “You know what you guys fit each other perfectly.” Trance and Markus gave us a big grin smile while Vic was only using a pedal making a beat.

I looked at her and she was smiling at me. I smiled back at her and said “Let’s do one more song?” She nodded while still smiling at me.

“What’s the beat man?” Vic asked me.

I looked at her and said “The duet: Just a kiss by Lady Antebellum.” I also looked at Markus and Trance; they were smiling now a small but thoughtful smile and nodded. I looked at Miku and said “Ready?” She just smiled.

It was exceptional, for me. I was really touched by this song. Actually it is my favourite song; it was the theme song for my heart; It was our… never mind.

“Hey man, wasn’t that the song that…” Vic said but Markus said something. “Hey man that song was great but it lacked something.”

“I know.” I said “the key board root. We need a key board player.”

“Can we add members?” Vic asked us.

“Yeah I think so, and besides we not going be on school affairs anymore right?” Markus said. Actually it was an oath that we made. When we became a group again we made sure that we aren’t going to meddle with school affairs anymore by means of the band. So it’s okay that we add additional members. “Oh, I know someone who is a good key board player for the band” I said and they all looked at me and said “Who?” in uniform.
