On a pleasant Sunday afternoon, I took my bike out of the basement. People standing near the shop and some guys from apartment and pg nearby were staring at my bike because of its loud sound from it's twin barrel exhaust and it was a new bike.
I literally had no idea where to go but I wanted to go because I knew there will be less traffic on roads if Bangalore/ bengaluru on Sundays. I googled a place to visit in and around the city ( Bangalore). Nandi hills was a common outing for bengaloreans and hence that was not an option. I found a place called 'Gudibande Lake' which is 95kms away from Bangalore and 31kms away from Karnataka- Andhra Pradesh border.
I begun my ride slow and steady ...... Getting use to the bike riding posture and new helmet. It took my around 90 minutes to come out of the Bangalore city.( Hebbal) .
Once I'm out of the city, I hit a highway. It was Bangalore - Hyderabad expressway which was pretty wide. It was the first time I'm riding on a expressway and was so excited.
I increased my cruising speed to 90KMPH. Soon I realized there a additional 6th gear in my bike. It was the first time I used 6th gear and first time I touched 100kmph speed. And that feeling was dope. Of course I wasn't rash. Everything was under control.
It took me 2 hours 30 minutes to the destination. It was around 5 -7 kms from the expressway. It's a village, complete village ..... They were seeing me like an alien. I found the lake I was looking for, thanks to Google maharaj( google map). The sunset view near the lake was mesmerizing. Nothing can beat that view. After spending few months inside the city full if traffic and dust, I was looking for greenery, peace, fresh air and silent nature....... Here it is. The silence...... the calmness in the river........it was Wow.......The daylight fades and sun sets into the dark cloud....... Has captured few moments in my phone as always. You can check out those in my insta profile.
A sense of peacefulness in my mind after coming out that place..... Now heading back to Bangalore ( around 4:30pm ).
I reached my place ( residence) around 6pm and explained about that location Tony pals. I shown them the pics and they were amazed.*MANCHANABELE DAM*
My second ride in Oct was an unexpected ride to Manchanbele dam.
It was lazy Sunday morning, I put my clothes in washing machine and was wondering what to do. Then I remembered my friend Rohan who is residing in Magadi Road of old Bangalore had invited me to his house. He had visited my home in Mangalore in april/may 2k18, and he wanted me to visit his house once I come to Bangalore. Hence I decided to go to his place .
While I started my ride from Koramangala, it was drizzling. By the time I reached KR Market, it rained heavily. I had to stopped several times in between.
It took me 3 hours to reach his place with rain, traffic, under construction roads, diversions, shortcuts and what not, by following Google maharaj ( google map).
After having chitchat, they forced me to stay there and I had no option because it was low battery too in my phone which i was dependent for map.
Next day morning, I and rohan woke up around 5am. Rohan had a plan for a ride to some place. Hence we got ready and went in my bike. He was riding and I was his pillion for the entire ride. Yup! You heard it right..... Because I was amateur rider.
Early morning ride with fog, cold weather, zig zag road, crossing village after village....... We reached that destination. It was called MANCHANABELE DAM.A lake that flows through the mountains with greenery surrounding. Utter silence and we even went off roading a bit. This view was better during dawn. Not much of attraction though but you definitely feel peace and calmness here.
After spending some time here, we headed back to his house where his parents had prepared yummie breakfast. These are the tiny rides in and around Bangalore.Other places i covered in Oct were inside the city of Bangalore like BULL TEMPLE, PHOENIX MARKETCITY MALL, AYRA HUB MALL, WHITEFIELD where I purchased few riding accessories like mobile holder, chain lubricant ( c2), helmet lock.
