NARRATION
As soon as Axel, Damon, and Leo had managed to open the door to Kent's filthy room by force, they didn't waste a single second. Mabilis silang kumilos at inayos ang lahat ng kalat bago pa mag simulang magreklamo ang nakababatang kambal.
Even Kent was dumbfounded at their sudden arrival because he's not informed that both Leo and Damon would tag along when he thought that it'll be just Axel. Again. But despite the shock, he couldn't utter a single word. Not even a mere no to stop them.
They were all informed regarding Kent's condition and they want nothing more but to clean his personal space. Kung saan siya madalas nananatili at kung saan niya sinisimulan ang pagsusulat ng mga bago niyang kanta. They believe that it'll be the first step in redeeming himself.
Leo took care of Kent's belongings. Put them back to their proper places and discarded the stuff that is no longer needed – which, in Kent's case, is almost everything – so Axel offered to help.
As the two tidy up Kent's room, Damon presented to choose Kent's clothes despite the difference between their style. Because as weird as it may seem to others, Damon is more into vibrant colors and Kent is into monotone ones. Which is why people say that their outfits are the complete opposite of their personalities.
Upon checking Kent's closet, Damon shook his head and heaves a sigh, disappointed at what he saw. "I no longer know who is more depressed. You or your closet?" he questions. "Is attending funerals your thing?"
Everything was black. From his top down to his pants. Kaya wala siyang ibang nagawa kung hindi mamili na lang sa mga 'yon dahil kahit gustuhin niya man na ipahiram ang ilan sa mga damit niya, hindi rin naman 'yon susuotin ni Kent. He likes his own style and never lets anyone influence his, in any way.
Agad nila itong binihisan na parang bata at hinatak pasakay ng kotse ni Leo. He's driving them to wherever they were going and since then, no one has uttered a single word.
Not Leo who is busy driving.
Not Damon who is busy admiring the scenery before him;
and not Axel who still feels both guilty and sad for what Kent had gone through.
And not an hour later, they found themselves inside a KTV room, with a lot of people outside, waiting for them – Kent, specifically – to come out.
Leo took his phone out of his pocket and clicked the notes icon. He then typed; ‘Kent, sing.’ at sunod na inabot ang mic sa kapatid.
He's not simply asking him to sing. He wants him to. Leo knows that it is wrong of him to force Kent into doing something that he is no longer capable of but he wants to push his luck and bring back the old him that Kent buried, himself.
Kent took his phone and typed a reply; ‘I can't.’ then looked away and pulled his hoodie down. Even talking feels weird for him.
Leo let out a defeated sigh.
He was about to choose a song for himself until Axel lightly tapped his shoulder and flashes an assuring smile.
"I got this."
"Oh, he'll just fuck things up." pang-aasar ni Damon pero hindi siya pinansin nito.
Instead, he went to Kent's direction and gently tapped his shoulder so he wouldn't shock him.
Sa aksiyon pa lang na 'yon, napataas na agad ang kilay ng dalawa. They are curious why he did that dahil bago pa lamang din ang lahat para sa kanila.
Kent mouthed, 'What?'. Forehead is creased.
But what Axel did next took them three by surprise.
He just said, 'You can. You just lost your sense of hearing but you can.' in sign language and Kent bit the inside of his lips to stop himself from crying.
He never knew his brother started learning sign language just for him. While Leo and Damon are busy with their own lives, Axel dedicated his time to learn something he has no knowledge of. Just for his brother.
"Fine," Kent answered with his own voice.
And slowly, still hesitating, he took the microphone from Leo, and by then, Kent's fans cried in awe. That is when Kent proved to his brothers and to those who have supported him that his love for music never died. It will always stay with him.
