Clint came in the room to see me staring at Thor, Natasha and Steve, In a worry.
"Let me guess, Speedy took advantage of your feelings?" Clint asked, Unphased.
"Not my feelings, my anger." I snarled.
"Banner's gone rogue." I heard Tony say, over the comms.
"What have I done?" I muttered.
"More like what have I done..." I looked behind me to see the twins. Just standing there.
"Oh, great! You guys are back..." I said, sarcastically.
"We just wanted to apologize. We took the wrong turn. Ultron's s a madman." Wanda said, walking up to us.
I turned my back on them with a hand in my hair. "Nope. Nope. Nope! This is a trick. Clint, we'd be better off back in the quinjet or helping Stark calm Banner down."
"We've come here to admit our mistakes. We just realized that now." Pietro said, sternly.
"Fine. We'll take you in. Again..." I said, annoyed as ever.
"This is all our fault." Pietro said.
"I understand that it's a mistake but we can't just have the both of you leaving and then coming back." Clint said, crossing his arms.p
I turned my head back to face the twins. "You couldn't live with the weight of your failure and where did that bring you? Back to us." (Thanos line recycle XP)
The four of us walked back to the quinjet in silence. Until Tony spoke up.
"I know we lost but you don't have to bring us suicide." Tony said, reffering to the twins.
"Everyone makes mistakes." Clint said.
"Mistakes? Mistakes!? Banner is getting arrested and you're calling it a mistake?" Tony yelled.
"They're kids." Clint retorted.
"Give me a break!" Tony exclaimed.
"Whatever. We're bringing you both in but not as friends." Tony said, completely giving up.
Before we got on the quinjet, I heard a voice behind me. "I know you're angry. I didn't mean any of that."
I turned my head to face the twins with a cold look. "You two couldn't live with the weight of your own failure. And where did that bring you? Back to us." (Thanos line recycle XP)
The quinjet was quiet. I still couldn't believe that the twins could just walk away and come back beat up. The twins' apology didn't really do anything. Bruce was getting arrested and Natasha looked empty.
"The news is loving you guys. Nobody else is. There's been no official call of Banner's arrest, but it's in the air." Maria said.
"The Stark Relief Foundation?" Tony asked.
"Already on the scene. How's the team?" Maria asked, concerned.
"Everyone's-- We took a hit. We'll shake it off." Tony said, turning to face everyone.
"For now, I'd stay in stealth mode, and stay away from here." Maria suggested.
"So, run and hide?" Tony asked.
"Until we can find Ultron, I don't have a lot else to offer." Maria said.
"Neither do we." Tony muttered.
"Hey, you wanna switch out?" Tony asked.
"No, I'm good. If you wanna get some kip, now's a good time. Because were still a few hours out." Clint shrugged.
"Few hours from where?" Tony asked.
"A safe house." Clint said.
