If you are reading this then you are looking for help with improving your writing. That's a great idea. It doesn't matter what your proficiency level is because the English language is complex and there are very few people who can't learn something new about it.
So where can I find somewhere to learn something new? If that's what you're wondering then you are in the right place.
There are many people here on Wattpad who have taken the time and trouble to put together writing guides and tips for writing in English. Do a search and check them out. Many of them are filled with useful information and a few will have you rolling on the floor in laughter as well. Just search for writing tips or writing guides.
If, however, you have read them and are thinking, "But I need something really in depth, something that will teach me how to make words plural and when I should use a semicolon and what on God's green earth is a split infinitive!" Well, then you have come to the right place.
This is not in any way intended to be the be-all, end-all compendium of Grammar and Spelling laws and every word here is typed in Cyber-space, not carved in stone. If you can't find something to help you here and you still have a question, search the web for English Grammar Guides or use a dictionary. There are so many resources available and you are only limited by your own imagination when it comes to finding them.
I would also highly recommend to any writer who wants to perfect their craft that they pick up a book, a professionally printed one, and instead of just reading it, look at the writing. Look at the way the sentences are constructed and how the writer has used punctuation to make them clear. Do you see all the periods, commas, quotation marks and apostrophes? Do you see how all of the sentences have a subject and a verb and more often than not an object as well? Look at how those three elements are embellished with adjectives and adverbs. See how everything is held together with conjunctions and articles and prepositions.
That is your goal for your writing so keep reading to learn how to put those things together to get your story written so that your readers can picture clearly the scenes that you are setting for their enjoyment.
I will be starting with punctuation and then moving on to grammar and sentence structure.
