Season 1 Episode 2 "Getting Legs"

"Somebody should have gone with her" Nixie said, referring to Serena as she is searching for the pod near Mako.

"She's your friend." Lyla sassily replies.

While they are bickering, Luna sits opposite of them rubbing her temple as her headache is growing.

"Right now, we're the only friends you've got." Nixie angrily replies to Lyla's bitter comment.

Lyla scoffs at her while rolling her eyes, as Serena enters the pool. All of them hoping for good news. Just some more open about it.

"Did you find them?" Nixie asks her tone deadpan but eyes filled with hope of having her pod back. But all hope vanishes as Serena shakes her head sadly.

"The pod's gone." Serena states, her eyes on the verge of tears.

Luna tunes out after hearing her say that. The pounding in her head almost getting to much for her to bear.

She finally tunes back into the conversation when Serena says with a raised voice, not yelling but close to it, "Like on land. It's against every mermaid law there is."

"We've already been cast out! What else have we got to lose?" Nixie says to her in a gentle tone.

"Anyway we're mermaids we can't go on land." Lyla informs, with a 'duh' tone.

"We can if we have legs." Nixie says back to her in the same tone.

Immediately after she says this Luna's headache comes back full force, taking all her might not to scream out loud. Despite her efforts a small whimper escapes her lips.

Thankfully Nixie and Lyla are too invested in their conversation to hear her, but Serena does. She sends Luna concerned glance, but all Luna does is wave her off and send her a slight smile.

"Or unless you have something that captures moonlight." Nixie's comment caught Serena's attention, which caused Luna to sign with relief.

Serena lifts her hand out of the water and looks at her moon ring intently.

As they start to exit Luna speaks up. "Shouldn't we do it in here so that no land people will catch us with tails?"

They all had a thoughtful look on their face before nodding in agreement.

The next thirty minutes were spent trying to lift themselves out of the water and onto the sand surrounding the pool.

After they were far enough away from the water, they set the moon ring in front of them. The whole time Luna was getting more and more uncomfortable away from the water.

"How do you know we won't end up with octopus legs?" Worried Serena, raising a valid point of how dangerous this is.

Nixie immediately answers her, "We won't if we think clearly of human legs," making an attempt to reinsure her.

They all hold up their right hands, open and facing the moon ring. Lyla and Luna with much hesitance.

When all their hands are finally up, the stone in the center of the ring glows a bright light and their once wet form completely dries. They look down and relies that they not only have legs but that they were also naked.

After a few minutes for an adjustment period, they all began to head for the moon pool. Though Nixie realized something very important.

"What about Mako? We can't leave it unprotected without the pod here. Plus Zack may come here to try to find answers." She says in a completely serious voice.
