As I drive my mind keeps going back Harry, it still bugged me how he just assumed I was some rich girl who gets everything she wants just because of my car. I know corvettes are really expensive cars but that doesn't automatically make me a spoiled brat. My dad gave me this car in his will after the accident it's all I have from him. My chest stings at the thought of the accident. I shake my head clearing it of those memories. I am starting a new life, I remind myself, that is why I got emancipated. And with that I continue my drive looking out at the open road.
After about 4 hours of driving I decide it is time to get some breakfast, considering I didn't really get to eat after what happened with Harry. So I pull into a cute dinner in some small no name town. When I walk into the dinner I immediately spot a certain curly haired boy sitting at a booth chowing down on some pancakes. I a stand there completely shocked, how could he be here again, this is the third time we have run into each other. My first instinct is to exit the dinner but unfortunately he spots me before I can do so. He smiles and waves me over to the booth. I walk over as I feel I have no other choice.
"What are you, stalking me? " he asks with a mouth full of pancakes.
"Don't you know it's impolite to talk with you mouth full" I say adding a little sass in my retort. "Not to mention gross" I say a little quieter this time.
"Oh sorry about that" he says then spits his pre chewed food into a napkin "is that better princess?" He asks with a sarcastic smile dancing across his lips.
"No not really" I say not even bothering to hide my disgust. "So what are you doing here" I ask, this question has been bugging me since I stepped into this dinner.
"Oh yah I didn't get to tell you before you ran off I am heading to Aspen as well" he says stuffing another fork full I pancakes into his mouth.
"Really you moving there too or just going on vacation" I ask, I can feel more and more question bubbling to the surface.
"Actually I already live there. I am just coming back from New Jersey" he responds very nonchalantly.
"Oh cool, so I guess we are on the same schedule then too huh" I say sort of at a loss for words.
I just met this guy and now I find out that we are going to be living in the same town. Usually this wouldn't be a big deal but for some reason it bugged me a lot. Since the conversation has obviously plat toed I decide to get up and try and find myself a table. As I stand, I feel Harry catch my wrist, I turn around to see him looking at me. In his eyes there was something like a flash of sadness or or doubt but it was to quick to catch.
"Hey where yah going" he said with a smile. Replacing any sign of sadness I had seen before.
"Oh we'll I thought I would get my own table since you probably want to eat alone" I say kind of shy about the fact he still hadn't let go of my wrist.
"Well you could sit with me if you'd like. You said it yourself we are on the same schedule" he says letting go of my wrist.
"Sure" I say with a smile and sit back down.
After I sit a older lady probably in her early 50s, comes by to take my order, she is very petit wearing a blue dress with a white apron. Her face is ridden with wrinkles as if proof of a hard life. Her name tag reads Sharon, what a pretty name she is so...
I am ripped out of my thoughts by the sound of Harrys voice.
"So Alexis what is this mysterious career you are going to Aspen to peruse?" He asked finishing of his pancakes.
"Nice try but my name isn't Alexis, and I want to be a pro boarder" I respond a little shy about my dream. A lot if people told me that being a pro boarder is practically impossible especially for a girl.
