Chapter 34; First Day

"Jo, wake up," I hear Ricky's voice.

I wake up and remember I'm still in the hospital.

"It's time to go home," he smiles.

"yay!" I grin.

I change out of the hospital gown into the clothes I had on before.

we get in Ricky's truck and he drives me to his house.

"I have to go to work, but we'll move your stuff tomorrow afternoon since it's Friday. I'll stop by your house to get you some clothes after school," he says.

"I'm leaving for work at 3:30. I'm not skipping today," I grin.

I give him a kiss and head inside.

It's only 11, so I fix myself some cereal.  I sit in the living room and eat my cereal while watching Full House.

Around 2:30 I get ready for work and head to Starbucks.

 

"What time is it?" I ask Lauren.

"7," another co-worker, Justin, answers.

Just 2 more hours until I'm off.

I see Luke and Chase walk inside and they come up to the register.

"Welcome to Starbucks," I giggle.

"Can you get us just two cups of coffee?" Luke grins.

"Hot or cold?" I ask.

"One hot for me, and one cold for Luke," Chase.

"That will be 3.56," I say.

Luke hands me money and I give him change.

 

I park the car outside of Ricky's house and head inside.

"Why are you dumping me?!" I hear Fiona shout from the kitchen as I step inside.

"I love Jo, not you!" Ricky fumes.

I step inside the kitchen.

"You need to leave," I growl at Fiona.

"You really like this pathetic girl?" Fiona scoffs.

"I love her," Ricky says.

"If you don't leave I'm calling the police," I say.

"Screw you," Fiona says to me and stomps out.

"Out of all people, why did you bring her back into your life?! She wouldn't have been here had you just stayed single!" I growl.

"Jo stop! I'm sorry," he says.

He wraps me in a hug and I lay my head on his chest.

"How was work?" he asks, kissing my forehead.

"I wanna move," I blurt.

He looks down at me.

"So Fiona doesn't know where we live," I say.

He sighs.

"I'll stay home from school and put the house up for sale in the morning," he says.

"Thank you," I kiss him softly.

I go upstairs and shower then I get in bed next to Ricky.

I face him and our noses touch.

"Are you working tomorrow?" he asks.

"I work all during the school week and on Saturdays," I tell him.

"Well I guess I'll get Ezra to help me move stuff tomorrow," he smiles.

"I want all my stuff but my bed," I grin.

"Done," Ricky smiles.

"I love you handsome man," I smile.

I couldn't be happier right now.

He kisses me.

"I love you too," he smiles.

I snuggle up to him, and slowly fall asleep.
