"what's my picasso doing out here all alone?"
her shoulder jerked at hearing the velvet voice that came out of nowhere. the girl was silently drawing her piece for an assignment that was due this week. tracing a few lines of different hues and starting to visualize the finishing touch.
the theme of her assignment was serenity. and it wasn't much of a required brain drilling for the girl as an image of a red telephone box under an oak tree in one rainy summer afternoon immediately popped inside her head. adding a few details that included placing a frail girl squatting inside while watching the raindrops fall off the glass, particularly unaware of another individual drenched, waiting outside.
she could snap the pencil inside her grasp into two if she hadn't peeked at who's putting a cold soda can to her cheeks.
"park jimin! you should be at class, true? then what are you doing here—" seulgi was throwing him a lot of questions but her mouth was shut as soon as the man replaced the soda can to the front of her mouth. making the girl pout while jimin silently restrained the urge to not throw himself at her again into a tight hug.
jimin's outfit today looked a little formal as he said earlier this morning at the bus that he's going to discuss some proposals with his professor. seulgi understood right at the second he explained the surface of the reason that he was having an important day. but more than that, seulgi couldn't help but to lose focus at how jimin styled his hair that made some of his forehead to be exposed. he also wore his favorite wyatt zip-up boot and some of his silver bracelets to top it off.
which really made sense why most female passengers at the bus was throwing him a glare.
despite of the important event, the boy went to her campus that was fifteen minutes by foot just to hold out his hands from the pocket of his jeans. showing two pieces of paper, shaped in beautiful carvings and layout. seulgi was once confused when jimin gestured his eyes for her to look at the thing he brought. her eyes immediately went big after she saw what he meant. almost going to blurt some complaints and nagging at how much the ticket would cost.
"don't complain. you don't expect me to forget your birthday, right? it's a week ahead. so here's my early birthday present." jimin smiled. noticing how her cheeks went into a red hue in seconds.
seulgi was just at loss of words. she held and examined the ticket on her hands. it was a ticket for two to an art exhibition she'd been wanting to go to, but was debating at how the price was quite high.
"how did you—"
"come on. you've been glaring at the same poster in your phone each time we're in the bus. scrolling up and down through the ticket section but never clicked on it." he said gently. throwing a smile that made her go soft. "so.. am i forgiven yet to skip my class? well, it's actually not skipping since the teacher was absent, so.."
jesus, what did i ever do to have him in my life.
"let me at least pay for one of the tickets jimin." i couldn't phrase how thankful i am.
"oof, not even a thank you. you better treat me a bunch of eomuk at our way back home!" he placed his hands in front of his chest and gestured as if he was hurt. made the girl chuckle and threw a scrap paper she fold into a little ball at him.
"alright mr goofball, thank you. really. i didn't expect you to pay attention at what i was doing at the bus." she finally blurted out the words when both of their laughter receded.
"despise me much?" he said casually while freeing himself from the jet-black tux he's wearing. putting the outer at the girl's shoulder, then casually took a seat at the bench before her. rolling up his sleeves to open the soda can while unconsciously showing off his veiny arms.
"here. don't forget to drink even when you're working on your masterpiece." his velvet voice was warm. like any other days. warm might be the only word that'll suit to decently describe him when somebody asks what jimin is like.
"t-thanks." she took a sip while trying to ignore the fact that park jimin was staring at her.
seulgi was aware to the fact that jimin wouldn't drop his gaze for even a spare second, other than noticing how bunch of students from her faculty was darting the couple a glare. questioning who the fine gentleman was, and what is he doing here with the well known top achiever of the batch.
seulgi wasn't aware that most of their audience were male students, but park jimin does. he decided to drop a look at the group of men that was whispering at the other table behind them. mouths immediately shut as soon as they recognize his hard stare.
good. he huffed.
"let's go somewhere else." he finally said. heaving a sigh out of impatience and also a slowly growing sense of burn to his heart.
if you thought park jimin was patient enough to restrain the slowly burning anger inside his chest, then it's fully an underestimation.
