A loud crash of thunder awoke Felicity from her sleep deep in her families den, and then another crash, and a snapping sound followed by a loud thud, scared Felicity, she shot up out of her bed of straw and warm grasses and headed through to her father's room, in the next hollow in the den.

"Daddy, Daddy I'm scared what's happening" Felicity cried, trying to wake her father who was sound asleep, having slept through many a storm in his time, "Daddy wake up, I'm Scared" Felicity cried out again as she pawed at her father's side to try and wake him.

Moments later Felicity's father woke, "What's wrong sweetie" he asked her softly as another crash of thunder shock through the den causing Felicity to jump and whimper in fear.

"That daddy, what is that, what's happening daddy" felicity cried, as her father nuzzled her closer to him.

"It's just some thunder sweetie, it's only a storm, come with me I'll show you it's nothing to worry about" her Father said leading her out of the hollow and to the tunnel that lead to the surface.

Felicity followed her Father closely, her muzzle occasionally getting a little tickle from her fathers bushy vibrant red tail, even in the darkness of the den felicity could still make out every detail of the walls, ceiling and floor of the tunnels, and every feature of her father's lean physique, and furry fluffiness, as they came closer to the surface felicity could smell the rain, and as the light got brighter she could see past her father the rain being blown almost horizontally, across the land, not straight down as it would normally fall but sideways, this confused Felicity, as she had never seen rain behave this way.

"Felicity come stand beside me" Felicity's father said, as Felicity came up beside her Father, to be able to see out the opening of their den better.

"Daddy, why does the rain go like that?" Felicity asked her father as she watched the rain getting blown from left to right across the front of their den.

"Well Felicity, you see the rain is very light, less than one gram per rain drop, so when the wind is strong like it is today, the rain is affected, and the wind is blowing it across before it manages to land on the ground" Felicity's Father explained.

Just then they both heard a loud Crack followed by a thud, it sounded like it came from right beside them, but Felicity's Father knew that it had come from at least half a mile away, as he knew that when the wind was blowing strong in one direction it can carry sound for miles.

Felicity's Father lead Felicity back into the main Communal area of their den, where Felicity's Mother and Brothers were sat together.

Felicity asked "Daddy, why does the wind get so strong, and why do we hear trees breaking and falling down miles away" she Questioned.

"I'll tell you all about it now, just lay down, curl up and let's stay warm as I tell you all about it" her father responded.

Over the next few hours as the storm started to die down, Felicity's Father told them all about the weather and how the wind can get so strong, and how the sound of falling trees can be carried for miles on the wind.

Felicity was enthralled by all this new information, but she couldn't wait until the storm was over so that she could go on her next big adventure from her special shimmering pool, Felicity never has any control over where she goes from there, she is just there for the ride, and a ride it is, her last trips were to the Moon and to Bethlehem.
