Varun was shaking his bent leg up and down, up and down, up and down. His mind was silent and blind while blaring music and neon lights ran circles around him. People of familiar kind spoke shamelessly loud. It was the wrap-up party for his upcoming movie, Coolie No.1. They had just ended filming yesterday.

Varun was not paying attention to anything nor anyone. He did not desire to join the fun of the  party. He just needed some peace, some quiet. He was pensively thinking. His mind has been running rounds for the past couple of days; never resting, just running. Something's been poking at him. He does not understand why. She is his best friend, goddammit!

Varun ki POV

She is my best friend, goddammit! Nothing's gonna go wrong, Varun. Just slap away the thought. Slap it away.

"Varun, are you okay? You've been sitting by yourself all night long and now you're slapping yourself," Sara gently asked me, placing her hand on my shoulder, worry evident in her voice.

"Yeah, yaar. I'm...I'm fine. Just, uh, thinking about something. You know me," I replied nonchalantly, faking compliance to my nagging reality.

"You sure?"

"Yes! Yes, I'm fine...really. I'm just tired," I tried to seem okay, I'm really not. This stupid thought has been bugging me!

"Well if you're sure," she looked unsure and walked away to enjoy her time.

You know what? I'm gonna go. I'm going to take a 5-day vacation and relax. I'm not going to think about Shraddha nor the movie until I come back. I'm going to-

"I'm sorry, Chirkut. I've been busy. I just wrapped up Coolio and now I'm at the wrap party."

"I forgive you. Anyway, how about you come by my house later, or tomorrow."


"I was actually planning on going on a vacation."


"Oh...well, after your vacation then."
