Controlling power. That's all the people knew. Nothing seemed right anymore. Symbols started to define who you were and if you were dead or not. + signs, rainbow + signs would symbolize that you would die within 24 hours. Indigo knew this all to well. Watching 18 year olds die after being marked. He never wanted it to happen to himself. His shirt was pulled down a small amount as to not show his er female parts. His + showed. Screams of other teens as they were ripped away from cell mates that they had made friends with. 18..17..16..15, minutes ticked by they seemed fast. 14...13...12..11..10..9..8..7..6..5 Indigo paced, this wasn't right. His father killing his own child for the +. Tick Tok times up. The cell door clattered open sending dust everywhere.
"Indigo Mend it's your time." The fairs pulled his arm in her dirt covered hand. It didn't make sense. As the two walked chants of people who were deemed perfect for having a S on their chest grew.
"KILL THEM ALL" people cried "THEY ARE RUINING THE TOWN" He listened. BANG, gun shoot. Another dead next. He was thrown to the ground, Knees scraping against the rocks. He watched the body of the last one to be killed get dragged away leaving a trail of blood. His father stood high above the crowed.
"Citizens today my own daughter shall be sentenced to the death all her fellow filth have faced," his faced twisted in disgust. A choir of boos followed. "Erin you were always my favorite then you had to change and ruin mine and your mothers life." He spat and raised his hand to signal the man at arm to hold his gun at the ready. "Does anyone wish to speak the final words to the imperfect?" No one spoke. The silence was deafening. His head spun. The hammering of his heart over came the shots of death to him. Breathe in let it out. Head up shoulders down. Close your eyes let it happen. Every thump of his heart made the minute seem longer. More screams as the gun was brought up farther. Indigo held a breath. The tip of the gun was now at the back of his head. The guns men slowly started to pull the trigger. Time flew in slow motion. The echo of a gun and him waiting for impact and the darkness of death. Then the screams of terror echoed through the crowed. The sound of run and get out of here made his heart stop. He was alive but how. Flipping around he saw a friend of his for many years, a bullet in her arm. The crowed was in a panic. People keep running tripping and being pulled down by masked men and women. One who helped my friend away. A stronger male rose in front of him gently grabbing his arm.
"Come one we gotta go." He dragged the smaller male with him. The rush was real and only a small amount of fear was present. He pulled him along and they were almost out but before they could even think about leavening something cut them off leaving Indigo in fear.
