Chapter 6: Did I have to say that?

I woke up tangled into Cole the morning after my mini freak out. One leg was wrapped over his torso, whilst the other tangled between his. My head rested on his chest. Both of our arms wrapped around each other pulling our bodies closer. We were tangled. And it was the comfiest I had ever been. I could stay here all day. But we had school.

I started to detangle myself from Cole's sleeping body so I could head for the shower. But sure enough as I pulled away Cole's grip on me tightened, keeping me to his side. So again I tried to pull away.

"No Ade, stay." Cole mumbled, his death grip tightening.

"Cole I need to go get ready for school." Again I tried free myself. No luck.

"It's like six in the morning." Cole said. Eyes still shut, death grip still there. "At least stay with me for ten more minutes?"

"You can have nine." I said looking towards Cole's face, a smirk playing across his lips.

"I'd gladly give you nine." Cole mumbled. So with that I loosened my hand and flicked him on the nose.

Cole's eyes shot open with shock. His grip then fell from me as he brought his hands up to his nose. "Ouch that hurt." Cole whined. "It was a compliment. Learn to take one"

"The flick wasn't for the compliment Cole. Actually I'm quite flattered that you think I'm do-able."

Cole's face grew confused as the seconds ticked away. "Then what was the flick for?"

"Well you lied about your size. And lying makes your nose grow, you know like Pinocchio. So I thought if I flicked you in the nose then it wouldn't grow. Also teaching you a valuable lesson at the same time." I explained to Cole.

"Oh Ade, trust me I didn't lie about my size." Cole said with a wink. "But my nose still hurts. Kiss it better?" a pleading pout grew across his face. Now I couldn't say no to that. It was just so adorable. Just think of the cutest thing you have ever seen in your life, times it by a billion, then square it, plus one, then you have the cuteness factor of Cole's pouty face. "My nose is waiting."

I leaned over to Cole and pecked the tip of his nose. "All better?" I asked.

"Much better." Cole replied, smile on his face. "Now come snuggle. We only have five more minutes."

"Ugh you are so needy. But only five minutes." With that Cole pulled me so I was lay on top of his body, his arms around my waist. And mine his neck. This boy was like a giant teddy bear. No scratch that, Cole was like a hot water bottle. "Cole you are officially my new teddy bear." I said snuggling in closer.

"And you Ade are my new blanket." Cole said back, him too snuggling closer.

We snuggled in peaceful silence for a little while longer. And then my stomach had to go and ruin it. Damn need for food.

"Hey teddy bear." Cole grunted in reply. "Want to go make something for breakfast?"

"Don't want snuggles to stop." Cole said nuzzling his face into my neck.

"How about this then, you can carry me downstairs, that way we can still snuggle, and I will make us some pancakes." Now that was an offer he could not refuse.

"And bacon?"

"Mmm...bacon. I like how you think Davies." I smiled at Cole and then we headed for the kitchen to make food.

After Cole and I showered (separately you perverted people, I'm no slut), dresses etc we headed off to school. It was only 8 when we set off so we decided to walk instead of board.

"Ade that bag looks real heavy let me to carry it for you." Cole asked once we set off down the street.

"No Cole you can't carry my bag. Yours already looks heavy enough."

"At least let me carry your board then." And with that Cole took the board from my hands. Well when I say he took the board it was more like prying it from my hands.

"Give me my board back." I tried to grab the board from him, but before I could Cole held it above his head. He knew shortness was my main weakness.

"Ha you're too short." Cole laughed at me. "So now you have to let me carry it for you."

"Fine be awkward Cole."

"Ade?" Cole asked as we waited to cross the road. "Can I ask you something?"

What could that boy possibly have to ask? Unless he was going to bring up last night. Last night when he asked me to be his girlfriend. He just couldn't. I had done so well to avoid it this whole morning. Cole just couldn't ask me that question again. Otherwise a perfectly good morning talking about music and how two day weeks before half term at school were just pointless would be ruined. Am I over exaggerating?

"Um sure. Ask away." I tried to keep my tone as normal as I could be when I answered him.

"Okay question. Um well I'm not sure how to ask this, but I guess I should just come out with it now rather than mumbling on all day." He was going to ask it. No boy just turns this nervous so fast. "Ade, will you be my girlfriend?"

He asked it. Just let him down gently Ade. Be nice. "..." Words. Words Ade. You can tell him. "..." Great now I was just stood frozen gawking at him like a zombie. Way to be a creep Ade.

"Great you're freaked. Nice one Cole scare her off." Cole seemed to be beating himself up just as much as I was. "Just before you run off let me explain. After the whole kiss and you well helping me out I got thinking. If I had a girlfriend then the teasing would stop. You wouldn't have to actually be my girlfriend, you would just need to pretend. Plus you said you owe me."

"I said that?"

"You know because of the whole wristband thing. The one I gave you. In your bag. With the note." Cole said trying to de confuse me.

So Cole needed my help. I guess I could do that. We did have a good time together so I wouldn't mind hanging out more. Plus I did tell him that I owed him for the wristband.

"By your silence I'm taking you don't want to do it. I knew I shouldn't have asked. Well see ya around Ade. Laters." And with that Cole was crossing the road, my skateboard still in hand.

"Cole wait." I ran after him calling his name but no answer from him. "COLE I WILL BE YOUR GIRLFRIEND." Now that got his attention, plus the whole streets.
