the beeping sound--which are caused by the machines that kept you alive--echoed through your ears. as you opened your eyes, the first thing you saw was the flourescent lights above you. you carefully examined the place you were in.
"y-y/n, sweetie. you're awake," your mother lowly said, covering her mouth as her tears rolled down her cheeks.
"w-what happened?" your voice came out to be hoarse, almost inaudible.
"you were in coma for six months," she softly said.
"you were involved in a car accident on your way home," your mom added.
"wait here, i'll call the doctor," your mom said, kissing your forehead.
as the doctor came and did few tests on you, your mind was occupied by your dream. you kept thinking about the girl named mina, but never aware of who she really was. you heart became heavy and your head started to hurt as you tried to recall things.
"don't think too much," the doctor said, patting your shoulder lightly before leaving your room.
'who are you really, mina?' you thought as you closed your eyes.
"auntie?" a girl's voice was heard, entering your room carefully.
"you're right in time, sweetie. let me introduce you to y/n," you mom said as you listened, still not looking up.
"y/n, look over here," your mom softly, caressing your hand lightly.
you then took all your energy to look up, looking at the girl infront of you, standing beside your mom.
"y/n, this is mina. she's your wife," your mom said with a smile.
"m-mina?" your hoarse voice stuttered.
"h-hi, y/n. i hope you get well soon," she shyly said, fiddling with her fingers as her cheeks blushed.
your head suddenly ached. you winced in pain, holding your head as you looked down.
"hey, what's wrong?" your mom worridly sat beside you.
'am i fooled again? are you able to fool me once again, mina?' you thought.
-
you're finally going home. you examined the road you're taking. then you realized, this isn't the road to your parents' house.
"where are we going, mom?" curiousity laced your voice.
"we are going to your house," she said, making you confused. you just remained quiet.
a few more minutes of driving, you reached your house that seems too familiar. it's the same house you had in your dream.
"let's go, mina must be waiting," your mom said, holding your hand.
as you entered the house, the first to greet you was mina. she greeted you with a smile on her lips, going near you.
"welcome home, baby," she softly said, hugging you lightly.
"t-thank you," you lowly said, being a little uncomfortable in her hug.
"let's go, i cooked your favorites," she said, sliding her hand to yours.
"we'll go now, darling. goodnight," your mom said before you entered the kitchen. she kissed your forehead.
"mina, take care of her," you mom said, hugging mina.
"i will, auntie," mina said with a smile.
"how many times do i still need to tell you to call me mom?" your mom playfully placed her hands on her waist.
"i'm sorry, mom," mina said, giggling at your mom.
"alright, we'll get going," your mom said, waving goodbye. you smiled at her.
"let's go?" mina's hand never left yours, still gripping tightly.
"yeah," you said, following her to the kitchen.
as you entered the kitchen, delicious foods occupied your sight. mina looked at you, smiling softly.
"y-you cooked all these?" you looked at her, you caught her staring at you.
"y-yes," she stuttered, looking away as she blushed.
she guided you to your chair, then she sat next to you.
"let's eat," she said, reaching out to grab a food for you.
"i can manage," you said as she kept placing foods on your plate.
"oh, okay," she said, a little embarrassed.
when you started eating, mina nervously stared at you.
"how is it?" mina felt nervous when you suddenly stopped biting on your food.
"you cooked these alone?" you looked at her as she nervously played with the hem of her shirt.
"yes," she said, biting her lip.
"it's delicious," you happily said, causing her to look at you with wide eyes.
"it is?" you smiled at her.
"hmm," you hummed, filling your mouth with food.
-
"how did you became my wife?" you're currently in bed with mina, preparing to sleep.
"we were arranged, we got married a month before the accident," she said.
"don't you remember?" she looked at you softly.
"i wouldn't ask if i do remember," you lowly said.
"right," mina agreed.
"i'm sorry," you blurted out.
"hmm? so sudden," mina said, giggling lowly.
"i'm sorry because i couldn't remember you, i'm sorry because i made you wait for me for six months, but why didn't you find someone else?" you then looked at her.
"why would i find someone else when i have you? you're the best person that ever came into my life, y/n," she said, pecking on your cheek.
"my eyes feels heavy," she said before she yawned.
"let's sleep," you said.
"goodnight, baby. i love you," she said, before she finally fell asleep. she then hugged you, burrying her face on you neck.
"i love you too," you unconciously mumbled, planting a light kiss on her forehead.
you don't care if she was fooling you once again, you just can't lose her. not again, not ever.
