"Will I see you in the casket of extinction?"
"Will you just shut up?" Hana yelled making Taehyung curse out loud in shock.
"Sorry! I didn't mean to! " Hana tried to justify but there were no words she could use to defend herself.
"I am so sorry" she lowered her head, burying her face into her palm. The overwhelming feeling of grief had taken over her and tears started to well up threatening to fall.
"Is everything fine?" Taehyung voiced out in concern as he could sense the despair floating around her.
Taking a deep breath in, Hana forced aside the depressing emotions that were creeping into her stomach. She couldn't bring herself to share what was going on with her to anyone.
Even if she tried what would she say?
People would either laugh at her thinking she was joking and get over it or succumb along with her worrying about her and she didn't want either of them happening. Running her hand through her thick locks she gathered herself then lifted her head to face Taehyung.
"I am trying to be." her voice cracked but she managed to cover it with a faint smile.
"What about you?" she mumbled shifting the spotlight to him, a clever way to avoid any more questions.
"Uh, I guess we are on the same page" Taehyung confessed in a low voice parking the car inside of his property.
Hana nodded her head unbuckling her seatbelt and climbing out of the car in silence. Even though it seemed like she didn't want to mention what was bothering her, Taehyung couldn't help but be a little persuasive. "Can I ask what is troubling you?"
Hana stared at him blankly for a second or two before she replied.
"Guilt" she was honest as they began to walk side by side inside the mansion which was unusually dim.
Maybe it was because of the light or she was good at hiding her emotions, Taehyung could point out she was not okay but couldn't decipher the emotion hooding her eyes.
Looking away swiftly she further opened up to him with a voice laced with immense sadness.
"Guilt of giving myself to my anger and losing the person that meant a world to me" Her words struck straight to his conscience and an uncomfortable feeling began to rise inside him.
"Regrets for taking stupid steps that ended up destroying everything I cared for" Taehyung continued to stare at her side profile as each and every word she spoke was having a direct effect on him.
Even though a faint smile was hovering over her lips she appeared to be defeated in the war of life and was just hanging on to the last thread of hope.
"We lose ourselves so easily to our ego that we fail to recognize what is wrong and what is right and when we can finally see things clearly, it will always be too late, leaving us to drown in the immense guilt and self-hatred."
Her words replayed in his head repeatedly and he felt undefined weight bothering his chest. After all, he was doing the exact things she was expressing about. Consumed by his anger, he was going to hurt two of the person he actually loved immensely.
"Hana" Taehyuns stopped her by holding on to her wrist.
"I am so sorry, I did something very stupid, I...."
"Suprise!!!!"
Both Hana and Taehyung jumped in each other's arms screeching in shock with their eyes wide open.
People were beaming at them with balloons and poppers, some even carrying congratulations on your engagement written on the board.
"Congratulation, I am so happy for you two" their parents came to hug her but she couldn't make sense of anything that was going on.
