(Y/N)'s POV:
After the fiasco from Germany's shower came another struggle, sleeping arrangements. When Germany came back to lay down in his bed he pulled me immediately to his chest in his arms with the blankets over us.
"Germany," I whined and began struggling in his hold with a flushed face. "Let go this is inappropriate."Germany didn't listen to me, he only tightened his grip and nuzzles his nose into my hair. "Nein, I sleep how I want. I put clothes on for you so let this be even." Germany counters. His voice becoming groggy by the end. He must be really tired.
With a huff I gave in, seeing that this was a losing battle. Relaxing in his hold wasn't too bad. It was pretty warm. Just like when I would lay with Mattie at night. Which reminds me.
Germany let out a relaxed sigh once he realized I stopped fighting. "(Y/N)," he started. I hummed as acknowledgement. "Did Canada ever lay with you like this?" He asked. Germany's grip around my waist became tighter at this question as I stiffed up.
"W-ell I-I," I stuttered. "How did you find me anyway?" I questioned, changing the subject. Not wanting to answer such a personal question.
"Answer mine first. Then I'll answer yours." Germany shot back. Damn he got me.
"Well-uh of course I-I did. We are d-dating after all." I stuttered out. My face beginning to heat up at the thought of my teddy bear, Mattie.
Germany became stiff at my answer as if he were disappointed with my response. The room feel silent for a moment. The darkened room giving it an extra effect of eeriness.
"Well, I answered your question. Aren't you going to answer mine?" I inquired. Desperately wanting both answers and the for the awkward silence to disappear.
"Did you really think that your suddenly disappearance would go unnoticed?" He asked back. My face fell at his sudden question. "We looked for any clue to where you could have been brought to. Desperately hoping each day that you were okay. We-I wanted you back. I needed you back. I needed to know that you were safe." He tightened his grip once more as he let out a shaky. breath. "My thought of what could have happened we're constantly running through my mind. I had no idea what was happening to you. For all I could have known you could have been hurt or worse. You left without anyone knowing. I thought you were kidnapped."
"I had to." I cut in. Germany paused as he waited for my excuse. "I know what I did was wrong. Leaving everyone like that with no clue where I was, but I had to. No one understands."
"Except Canada?" Germany butted in. My shoulders became heavy as the tone become stern, almost like a growl. Was he...no, he couldn't be. Is Germany...jealous?
"To some degree, yes he does." I started, trying to calm Germany's rising anger. "I've always envied Canada for his talents of disappearing without notice. He on the other hand say it as a curse and envied the way I stood out among everyone. We both desired what the other had, so we made a deal. I was to show him how to be noticed more and he was to show me how to disappear." I explained.
"Why? Why would you want to disappear? Run away from everyone and everything, just to teach in a different country." Germany asked. The tension never disappearing.
I let out a huff and tried to choose my words more carefully as to not further upset him. "It wasn't you guys. You're all so welcoming and exciting to be around. Even if it's noisy most of the time. Something, " I paused, trying to pry words from my heart.
"Something was wrong. It didn't feel right. Being a country just didn't feel like what I was supposed to do in life. I didn't want to live my life worrying about my next battle, rather it be between one of my friends or with my self. I just-" I could feel a wet, warm substance run down my cheek as I let out a sniffle.
