A/N
Author's note at the end tells how to play the song in this chapter. Alright, potato. You can continue reading. ❤️❤️❤️Usually, my Friday consists of a free day to do whatever I want. Today? Well, today I'm in a car that a bunch of fans caught sight of, so a boy that I just met twenty minutes ago named Harry, who is apparently famous, is trying to drive us out of town so that they don't know where I live or who I am.
"Listen, I am really sorry, Maleah, but I think that's a fan behind us." Harry looks into the mirror and groans. "Here. Put these on, quick." He grabs a black fadora and big sunglasses. I throw them on and put my arms into the sleeves of his coat and wait for him to tell me what to do next.
"What next, Styles?" I ask after getting impatient.
"We need to stall them. Maybe back-track. This doesn't happen often at home." Suddenly his hand and arm slam into my chest as he hits the breaks, keeping me from slamming my head into the dash. A fan is standing in the middle of the street, jumping up and down while waving. He waves at her then waits for her to get out of the road. When she does, he slams on the gas and drives by his house but doesn't stop. He also drives past my house and toward Doncaster.
"Harry, where are we going?" I fumble with my seatbelt.
"We're going to Doncaster. To my band mate, Louis's house."
"What?! But my mum doesn't even know I'm gone. She'll flip out. And how long will we be there?" I grab my phone from my pocket.
"Probably over night. I'm so sorry." He sighs, running a hand through his curls. I turn to him, eyes wide.
"Harry, I can't stay out over night! I'm not allowed out past nine!" I shout. "Pull over."
"What? Why?!" He speeds up. As well as the ten cars that are behind us. They grew when we passed Harry's house.
"Because if you don't pull over now I will jump out of the car." I cross my arms. He simply laughs, so I surprise him by opening the car door. He gasps and leans over me to close the door, somehow still driving straight. I gasp as he does because while he leans over me, his curls tickle and cover every part of my face.
"Harry!" I cough on one of his curls and he leans back, his eyes sternly focused on the road as he pulls out his phone and the car begins talking.
"Hello, Harry. What would you like to do?" The car speakers say loudly, making me gasp.
"Your car tal-"
"Set child lock on all doors except the driver's seat." He nearly growls. I open my mouth to protest but he shushes me.
"What is your password?" The car asks. Harry turns his screen away from me and types one of the longest passwords I've ever seen.
"Your request has been completed."
I decide then to text my mom and tell her that my best friend came and got me to spend the night. And it works because she just asked me last week to stay over when she came into town, so that she could pick me up. She was in a hurry so I didn't have time to say goodbye. And just like that, I'm grounded and I'm stuck going to Doncaster to meet this weird 'band mate' with basically a total stranger. Great!
Present Time
"Maleah, can you please say something?" He sighs. I just stare at the road ahead. He puts a hand on my shoulder. "Maleah?" He looks over at me hopefully. I don't shrug him off or look over at him. I ignore him completely. And secretly, I take in and enjoy the chills I get from his touch. "Please say something. The silence is deafening." He begs. I finally turn to look at him.
