Alright! We have a fluff prompt this week!
Prompt: Make your OTP fall in love.
I'm doing it with a human AU (because I love them) and Percabeth (because I love them too).

To say that Percy liked his new barista job was an understatement.

He loved everything about it - the warm, rumbly coffee machines, the scent of the freshly-ground beans, the way everyone always seemed happier after getting their beverage... and last (but certainly not least) the general vibe of the whole place.

The Coffee Pot wasn't your average suburban coffee joint - it was crammed with tall, full bookshelves and had a strict student-only policy, so it was definitely more peaceful than the Starbucks across the road.

Oh, how he enjoyed the sight of a coffee shop without any screechy toddlers or grumpy adults seeking caffeine, WiFi and their own table each. You know, the general mood-destroyers of a happy coffee haven.

So it was with a stupid grin on his face that he neatly rearranged the small rack of cookies and cupcakes next to the cashier's machine as he hummed a little ditty to himself first thing in the morning.

Ah, life was good on the days he started with his morning shift...

That was, until the door chimed sharply, indicating that their first customer had arrived. Percy jumped slightly, nearly hitting his head against the glass case of pastries as he straightened up to stretch an arm to the shelf behind him and grab a pen.

"Good morning and welcome! What can I get you?"

"One tea, please. Earl Grey. Make it the smallest you can."

Well, that was new. Slowly, Percy spun around to look at his customer - a girl around his age, carrying a laptop bag and a backpack. "...sorry, what?"

"A small Earl Grey tea, please."

A disoriented laugh bubbled up out of his mouth as he stared at the pretty blonde. "Uh, you know this is a coffee place, right? If you want tea, I'd recommend-"

"I'm perfectly aware of where else I could go to get tea," she interrupted him smoothly. "If you're recommending the cafe on the corner of Main Street, it's closed for repairs right now. And I've heard that this place is good, so I came to see it for my self. So far, it isn't really meeting my expectations, though..."

Percy shook his head in disbelief. "You're not gonna change that order of yours, are you?"

"Nope." She flashed him a quick grin. "Oh, and I'll take a brownie with it."

"Alright." Absentmindedly, he reached to the shelf and grabbed a small-sized cup, while his other hand fiddled with the pen tucked behind his ear. "Can I have a name?"

"Annabeth."

He paused mid-scribble, raising a single eyebrow. "Nah, that's not gonna fit on the cup. Not with my monster-handwriting. Can I shorten it?"

"Feel free." She wasn't even paying attention, instead eyeing the pastry rack as he jotted down 'Annie' on the tiny cup, before placing it neatly on the counter. "I'll just send out a friend to get you your brownie while I dash in and make you your tea. Everyone else's too brain-dead at this time of the morning to do it."

💕

"Um, Percy?" Grover, Percy's best friend, poked his head into the kitchen. "Tea? You? Making? Those words don't really mesh together, if you get my meaning..."

"Oh, ha-ha." Sticking the corner of his tongue out, Percy carefully poured the steaming liquid into Annabeth's cup. "If you say I like her, I will not hesitate to pour the remaining tea on your leg."
